Keep chemicals as pure and uncontaminated as possible. 11. Draw out chemicals with a pipette filler, never by mouth. 12. Notify your teacher to clean up spills. 13. Heat volatile organics in a heating mantle or steam bath in a hood, not over a Bunsen burner. 2. Check the gas hose for cracks. 3.
