I was once told that I would not nor ever achieve anything. I am now a self made man in the winter of my years. Ignoring what others say or think matters not so long as your content with yourself and direction of life. Being severely disabled I got my dream bike, tent, lightweight kit. To this day I go wherever it takes me, disabilities in hand, meds on tap, an ride, camp, video, photograph my journey for a good book soon. My bucket list nearing completion except for a few. However, a 12 week trip around europe will be my biggest challenge yet, I will not be defeated and looking forward to 2025. So, love your spirit, tenacity and courage.

I totally love the sentiments of this video. For years I wasn't interested in motorcycling because everyone I knew who had a bike was just obsessed with bikes, it was all about figures and stats and speed and how great their bike was, a yawnfest for me, I just didn't get it. Then I read a book by someone I respected who took off on a motorcycle journey and it changed my perspective - it wasn't about the bike, it was all about the adventure, the method, not the madness. Then a penny dropped and for the first time ever I became interested in motorcycling. It took a couple of decades but I finally took my test and got a bike, and still I'm not that fussed on bikes, per se, but it is such a good way to see the world and a great way to travel. So, thank you for putting that out there.

Wow, (tear to my eye moment) you have nailed what biking is about saffy. It took my best touring mate to have a near fatal bike accident end of 2021 on his ZZR1400, losing the use of his left leg, then him buying a vespa 300gts scooter as could only sit on a step-through, me then buying a maxi scooter in sympathy so we can still ride out together for us both to realise its not about the horse power, its about being out there riding through stunning scenery with your best mate. He is still pretty beat up and we had a norway tour booked end of may 2022 prior to his accident and we are now going on the scooters. It will be a struggle, he has metal in most parts of his body, but it is his Everest and we will make the 3000 mile journey somehow. Thankyou for this and i will remember your words. (The Ducati is still in the shed for the occassional sunday blast!)

Your attitude even when making mistakes is fantastic and I aspire to be more that way even after 40 years of riding, racing and working on my own bikes. Nicely done! When you watch a video of someone trying to learn how to use tools and work on their own bike, it just shows they're not "stupid", but fun and inspiring people who love their bike and who also love to motivate others to live their life to the fullest, whether it's a bike, car or even a bicycle. It's videos like yours, that keeps me motivated to continue saving to buy my bike, learning a lot about everything involved in biking and one day get out there too!! Nice! I’m a big believer in buying a vehicle and truly owning it. I never plan to sell or swap it in and I find it odd when people do. I’ve even contemplated buying a second bike (with imaginary money) but I’ve never considered selling my first bike, I still have lots to learn on it so what’s the rush. Plenty of small mods can make any bike fit for purpose.

One thing to note, is that with it fully loaded you might feel the front end a little light so you might get help to adjust your rear suspension a tiny bit to cope with the extra weight. I'm sure one of your followers could advise on how to do it, if you don't already know.

Great spirit of adventure. Ride the bike you have to the fullest. I've seen friends do sketchy stuff off-roading sports bikes. The only limitation usually is in your mind ("the bike is not made for this; "I don't want to scratch the bike;" etc.). Getting a Supermoto also changed my perspective of what bikes can/can't do on street tires. I may go slow on gravel/dirt on my street bike but I know that it can handle some scenarios whereas I used to avoid certain routes completely missing out on that part of the adventure. Don't sell the SV, you'll miss it! Thx for sharing your riding adventures.

Yes! Absolutely 💯 agree. And love that you're bonding with your machine. I have a 24 year old zx6r that was effectively free to me. Its satin black as its been on its side (a couple of times) with 62,000 kilometres on the clock and it does everything. Its my transport, my hobby, and my ... my old girl. And I love her. I could get another "fancier" bike, but like you it's about the biking, not the bike. The adventure and not the machine. And its ok to swear when you smash your fingers in your panniers.... really it is! Love to see someone getting stuck in and working on their bike for themselves. Best way to learn! Well done that girl!

My soft luggage is absolutely fab for the last year, especially for commutes. I picked up a brand new '06 SV650S years ago, after having grown up riding off-road. Based on the video's, yours looks like a later naked. Cracking little bike capable of absolutely everything and will hit 140mph on a track without worrying about it (your arms would know about it on the naked though!). I took my S off-road through fords more times than I can remember, and sold it on to be a race bike after 3 years & 75k miles. My SV taught me how to throw a spanner at bikes, and I now ride an ST1300. Keep doing what you're doing! Lovely seeing someone else ride for the sake of riding, and modify their bike to reflect their personality :) PS. That tin can lunch box is awful, I live in Wales, and my SV had a scorpion exhaust with a removable baffle. The ST currently has delkevic headers with stock mufflers. Welsh police used to be really aggressive towards bikers, but things calmed down quite a lot years ago. But of course, you do you. :)

The bike is certainly one of a kind. Well done, and good luck getting used to the wheel brightness. I have to admit I watched your mechanical parts of the vlog with with gritted teeth. I never knew I was such a mechanical perfectionist. Ain’t it nuts or what. You did awesome 👏🏻 👊🏻👍🏻

The reason I love your videos is you are always open and up front about the odd mistakes you make 🤔🤣 if you haven't already just check that your new panniers are not wider than your mirrors as you will need to allow for this if filtering in traffic 😉 Keep riding and stay safe mind 👍

enjoying your videos, 'tinkering' with mechanical things is normal who ever you are and everyone has to start somewhere. Impressed with you fitting all the new 'bags' to the newly prettified bike!. looking forward to the next episodes and ignore the 'bullying'. 🤟

Well done young lady. Perseverance over skills yet again wins the day, and you have everything fitted on the SV. Added to the fact that you just laugh helplessly at yourself just makes it real. Oh, and the bike looks great, and everyone will certainly see you coming, especially those lovely welsh police haha. Safe riding.

I think what we were doing wasn't wrong, just nothing is made right... for us 🤣. Well done and keep up the good work of putting smiles on all our faces👍

Indicators are easy, just 2 wires, a positive and earth wire, if the connectors won't fit, you can just cut the connectors off, peel back the insulation on each wire, twist the copper wires together (very temporary solution) and tape over with electrical tape. This will work but obviously it would be better to also buy some connectors and crimp them on, very easy to do, they're just like pliers and squeeze everything together, lots of videos on youtube showing how to do it, practice on a spare bit of wire before you go for the actual fit. Hope some of that helps?👍

agree, what I love out bikes is that compared with luxuary cars (and I love cars too - I’d condsider selling my bike for a S2 lotus elise) is that pound for pound, HP per pound, style for pound, open air for pound, sensse of adventure per pound, easily make it your own per pound, pose factor per pound, fun factor / pound - you get the idea. they are awesome machines and in the reach of most people. As they say 4 wheels move the body but two wheels move the soul.

What matters about your bike is that you are comfortable and can handle it. Distance is just going the extra mile and you don't need another bike to tour, just more time. Years ago I went round Europe on my GPZ500s and loved it. If the bike can do it then you can do it, well done for not being pressured into conforming to a type of biker or bike, do your own thing and love it, and your bike, that's what biking is all about.

Your bike is looking good, and your right. You can have an adventure on any bike. I ounce owned a bike for 17 years, because it did everything i wanted it to do and more. If ever you need help with your bike, just ask or bring it round.

I had a 2004 SV650s in black as my first proper bike in about 2005. I've owned a few bikes since then, Triumph Sprint 955i's, BMW K1200rs, Triumph Bobber. Gotta say, that SV was a weapon! I used to commute in and all around London all week, then don my leathers (which would stay on all weekend day & night, as I'd mostly drink late into the night at friends houses and end up sleeping on thier hearth in them), and rag the sh1t out of it up the A40 to Herefordshire and Wales every weekend. It was a fast bike!! Handled beautifully and had stonking brakes, and it looked good too! I'd have another one in a heartbeat, but got my heart set on a Ducati next.... Anyway, I did highside it (the SV) once when pulling in from an overtake and hitting a big patch of gravel (thanks Tarmac Kington). The consequence of this was a shattered collarbone, fracturing ALL my ribs on my right side, front & back, a fractured shoulder blade and a chipped elbow. The bike was wrecked, though I did patch it up and ride it again it was never quite the same (I couldn't find a black fairing). Anyway, so my ribs, I totally empathise with your pain! That HURT. It took 3 months to properly heal and taught me to be EXTRA careful of unwelcome gravel patches and extra cautious when overtaking. Also, an important point, it you think you've broken your ribs you need to be REALLY careful you haven't or don't end up puncturing a lung, similarly with an exploded collarbone I think. I just remember the ambulance was just passing anyway and this was what the (brilliant) paramedics said. So, theres my little story of the SV650 and broken bones. I also just wanted to say that I do find your channel really inspiring. I am terrible for making excuses NOT to go (mostly I blame the dog as I live alone and have to find dog care), but I just got back from a 700 mile round trip to France (I LOVE FRANCE, not a SINGLE pot hole!) and am keen to load up the Beamer for a few day trips whilst I have a few weeks garden leave. I'm based in Mid Wales so plenty of day trips to choose from! Anyway thanks for all the inspiratoin and silliness. Keep it up.

SV650 is a superb bike and mods you're doing are great, practical and makes it better. I'd suggest a Beowulf silencer next, it saves a load of weight, is dead easy to fit and gives a sociable but lovely tlv twin sound. I know as I fitted one to my wife's SV.Enjoy 👍🏻

Damn girl, you had my eyes tearing up. I know the feeling of loving what you ride. After almost two decades of researching happiness, and after reading study after study about the subject, I and other have come to the conclusion that genuinely happy people have one thing in common, that is that they are very grateful. Some of the happiest people studied, were extremely poor, yet they were happy. Happiness is not about money or other material possessions, but about enjoying what we have and being in the moment. The past is gone and can’t be changed, the future is not here and may never get here, all we have is this moment. We must leen to enjoy the now, enjoy the presence of those in front of us, the things we have when we have them, and always always always acknowledge the little things in life. Most people look forward from one big moment in their lives to the next. When they buy a new bike, when they start a new relationship, when they graduate college, when they get married, when they have kids, , when they buy their new home, and on and on. But life is not full of big moments, they are full of tons of “tiny big moments” (as I call them). The time we spend we a loved one sitting and chitchatting and drinking a cup of tea or coffee with a loved one. When someone gives you a hug, cooks for you, tells you they love you, and so many other little moments that males life happen. I like to say that those little big moments are the glue that holds our lives together. Sadly, most take those routine little moments for granted. I’ve lost my dad, my mom, and oldest sister. I would give anything to have even a few more minutes with them. To sit down and have lunch with them, hug them, kiss them, chitchat about life, and laugh together. If there is an afterlife, may be then I’ll be able to do all that. Enjoying life’s small moments, you know, those moments we take for grated, and being grateful for those moments is the key to happiness. That’s right, those people and moments we take for granted, the mundane things that happen everyday in our lives, are the key to happiness. Crazy, un? I think that you are well on your way to accomplish that and live your life that way. You have a spark and a silliness (compliment) in you that I hope you never let anyone take away from you. Here is an idea that I believe will suite you well. Have you ever heard of 360 Project? Look it up, go to www 365grateful com.

The sv650 is a really good bike. Always has been. And it's the basis for the V-Strom which has been one of Suzuki's top sellers for years. I got the latter as a return to biking bike after a break due to horror injuries. It's not characterful, but it is easy to ride, very relialbe, with the tall seat it suits my 6'5" frame and it can do everything I want a bike to do. And in your case, you have added character to your sv, pink character! With the cool luggage and the screen I'm sure it will do everything you want it to do too.

No such thing as an stupid old bike SaffyDaffyDoo.... they are the ones you get to know and trust. You can do the prep before a trip and know everything that can go wrong with it and how to fix it. Also older bikes have less to go wrong with them. I have an 2002 Mille, I've have it since 2006 and have never thought about an upgrade. I also do track days on it and it more than capable around all those new shiny toys... love your upgrade though... awesome!!
