My consultant also gave me tips of how to make the best of colours that are not in the good tone for me by playing with contrast, position of the colours, etc. It is actually more freeing than restrictive when you have these tips and insights on how to make colours work for you!

Taking years to swallow the premonition that I might really be a winter before finally paying for a colour analysis online. And yes, I'm a winter. A true winter at that 🥲. One that is not borderline with any of the other seasons at all.

Yes. Before I found out I suit them I got an emerald green/teal teddy bear coat as my Christmas gift and my mom hasn't stopped talking about it since. She says it looks stunning on me and the colour is so unique but it works great because it's not a pea green that would clash with my olive tone. But it has some blue in it too. She told me how she would go and get herself the same coat if she has any money to spare. I got it for like 30% off during black Friday since I needed a new coat. Because she also couldn't stop talking about how my old coat looked very used. Regardless I wear jewel tones quite often. Like the sweater in my pic and I had a time in highschool where I'd wear anything blue. My mom told me blue washes me out a bit being pale but apparently it suits me very well because younger me was onto something.

@vixxcelacea2778 Жыл бұрын
True! But at the same time, there is color theory against colors themselves and unless you know how to mix really well, wearing a muted warm tone pant with a cool jewel tone top might look a bit funky. Usually accessories and additions can balance it, like the color of the outer top or inner, belt, shoes etc. Blue jeans weirdly look good on everyone. Apparently blue goes with most other colors. Even in jeans though, you can choose a cool, neutral or warmer tone.

It's absolutely based in color theory. It by no mean should stop a person from wearing a favorite color but it can help answer questions of why you might be uncomfortable in certain colors... what people ask if you're feeling okay when you wear certain colors... even things like why you suddenly look more tired just by changing your shirt. (An unfortunate side effect of some retail uniforms on some people.)

You're definitely a winter. I haven't even started the video yet. The high contrast between your skin and eyes, the high contrast between your hair and skin. The soft cool olive undertones. Classic winter! Stay away from oranges and pastels, but embrace blacks, pure white, jewel tones, and raspberry cool reds! Also, avoid pastels and look for icy (lighter version of pastels) colors instead.
@andrew_sar Жыл бұрын
Also keep your hair very ashy and avoid red/golden tones! That's different than if your hair reflects certain colors in the sunlight. For example, many winters with dark hair may reflect copper in the sunlight. However, copper shouldn't be the dominate tone. Also, people who have both green and blue veins are often olive undertoned! Olive is inherently cool because there is more blue than yellow in "olive."

Agreed. But it can also help you figure out why people always ask if you sick when you wear a certain color or why you always seem to look more tired when you change into your work shirt or why, no matter what brand you try... foundation never seems to match. There's a similar test for finding your foundation shade too because way more people out there are cool toned or have olive or gray undertones be they cool or neutral. It's also useful to know if you're trying to pick outfits for photographs or a job interview where you really want to be looking your best.

@@Snowhite-tx4sm I couldn’t advise you on this without seeing you in person, unfortunately. But from your explanation i would look into whether you flow between summer and spring. There are overlaps, you may need to get your hands on the next stage of flags where you can figure out what you are flowing through. Since your palette is more complicated I would pin point a few of your wow colours and just redesign your closet around those. Simplify, because it sounds like your colours are currently complicating things haha but never forget that rules are made to be broken :) so if you like a certain colour and it’s not your palette - I would still rock it just maybe less on days when you want to make your best impression.
