I like this guy. No worries about the cool factor. Clear, concise speech, an very logical, without the huge "cool guy" attitude.

More training in this video than a three-day course at a center I went to for $175. Nicely done.

Thank you for sharing this. The comprehensive level of training in a multitude of variables is something I do my best to pass on to my "students". Schedule allowing, I sincerely look forward to training with SD in the future months. My friends that already have, speak volumes about the validity of the quality.

This might seem like a strange scenario but... what if you encounter another armed citizen (good guy) while searching? I suppose you can try to get a description of the shooter from someone fleeing to avoid mistaking anyone else as a threat but that might not always be possible. Plus that person has no idea who you are...

Idk exactly what I'd do until I'm in the situation but because of this scenario Ive always thought, if I hear gunshots 100 yards away while I'm in Walmart and I can't actually see what is going on. I'm calling 911 right away and maybe flee or hide in a position where I have a tactical advantage. But if shit pops off and I'm in the immediate facinaty i'm going to unleash hell on to said active shooter P.O.S

What just let innocent people die and hope the police hurry up.

According to most gun guys on the internet, any person with normal IQ can tell the difference between a good guy and a bad guy. You must be stupid for asking this question. Or morally bankrupt for letting innocent people die.

I realize this video is pretty far back in the archive but its still really good stuff. How has the training evolved and gotten even better I wonder. The chance of you being involved in a situation like this is higher now than ever before. I think if you carry a gun this training is a must get.

Seems like an amazing class. It really highlights the chaos that must be involved in a mass shooting.
@riptaway8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with closing with the shooter ASAP. Violence of action. Having the initiative is a huge advantage. Mass shooters are usually not well trained and not moving tactically. You showing up 30 seconds after the first shot is fired is not what they're expecting. Your pistol with hollow points even less so. But it's also okay to run. I like to think most people would do the right thing and engage the shooter, but you don't know if they're wearing body armor, if they have overwhelming fire power, partners, etc. I would never judge someone for it, but I also would hope that CC holders would generally be inclined to intervene

Have you thought about using the StressVest System in your scenarios? You'd be able to train in a wider variety of locations as you wouldn't have to worry about projectiles messing up the area. Also, you'd be able to read roleplayers' facial expressions to allow you to know when an attack is coming.

I've always wondered what the legal ramifications could be if I decided to make a choice, run towards danger, and defend unarmed people from a crazed person indiscriminately taking human life.

I believe if the instructor acted as a police in the aftermath it would help improve communication and improve how one could respond to the police after the active shooting occurs

This video was made in 2014, now in 2019, even more so, active shooter scenarios could be a possibility. It's a difficult question to answer but do you REALLY want to run towards gunfire and engage as a private citizen? It hasn't happened yet but what if you do take out an innocent CCW holder, an off duty police officer or even an innocent bystander. I wouldn't blame the family to sue you for all you got plus throw you in prison. Think about YOUR family, think about your future. Yes, it's all cool and fun playing with guns but we've taking about innocent lives here. I'm not talking about a situation where you can't extricate you or your family. Carrying a firearm as a private citizen entails great responsibility and maturity. Act accordingly.

Pin yourself to a wall while moving towards the shooter? WTF? You do know that bullets ride walls right? You can be slightly off the wall sure, but don't pin yourself to it while walking.
@SageDynamics9 жыл бұрын
Bullets ride some walls such as brick or concrete; it's far less common with sheet rock or other interior materials; it's also the most effective way to move through a crowd. This technique is taught world wide for confronting and navigating crowds by militaries and police departments.
