@@SagutoGolf Thank you Tom. From now on, Derek will play the role of antagonist in my life. When I swat a fly, I'll exclaim, "Take that, Derek!" 🤣I've watched all of your posts and the 14 vids. Great stuff. When I practice, then take it on the course, it doesn't naturally work for me or better stated, I'm prolly not doing it the way you do. It looks and feels as though I'm set up and mechanically going thru the same motions but end up taking a big divot out before the ball. Rarely do I compress the ball and get crispy you know what contact. So instead, I've been taking two slow practice swings then step up to the ball with the idea of doing what you preach, and the ball is hit solidly -- I get reasonable distance. The chunk sends the ball 40 yds. I've been wondering whether I should incorporate more of a single-plane swing concept. Your left arm straight / shoulder turn falls into that category.

I really enjoyed this vlog and hope there are more to come. I am 73 and I was a member how about a year ago. I got pretty good with my irons but my driver gets me in trouble all the time. I found it a little hard on my body compared to my old easy swing type of golf.
@SagutoGolfАй бұрын
I appreciate your feedback, Don, and I'm very glad to know that this on-course format resonated with you. I do intend to record more of these as the schedule and weather permit. With regard to your driver woes, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. For example, the outward flaring of both feet 10-20 degrees in our setup facilitates the proper amount of body-friendly, free-flowing hip turn back and through. This is a major power source, and it also keeps the club traveling on the correct path. If you were to square your feet so that they were perpendicular to the target line, then your hips would be impeded from turning sufficiently in the backswing (which would then inhibit the shoulders from executing a full and effortless turn), and from releasing properly in the downswing to propel the club through the zone. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lower back, lead knee, and the hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process. You assuredly do not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. If you continue to experience issues with your driver, then know that I do offer a swing video analysis service which enables me to put my eyes on your swing, diagnose any issues, and provide a corrective action plan if applicable. Here is a link where you can learn more about this option: saguto.golf/lessons Thanks for your message and support! Tom

Cool video. I am a Saguto golf guy all the way. Funny, I saw a Marcus Edblatt video recently and he preaches an upright swing, weight on the trail side and very “busy” hands, so diametrically opposed to the principles of S and T. Not sure how one could achieve much consistency that way.
@SagutoGolfАй бұрын
Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it!! With regard to receiving swing information from different sources, please be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. That is not a dig against any other teachers out there. It's simply best to commit to a *system* - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt method or another - put your blinders on, and stick to it. Thanks for your support! Tom
@billchan1772Ай бұрын
Thankyou for the great video and I have followed your way for a few months. My accuracy and consistency have improved a lot. But I found a problem with that. My sole of the left foot feels very painful. Do you have any suggestions for that? Thankyou and hope to hear from you.
@SagutoGolfАй бұрын
I appreciate your feedback, Bill, and I'm very glad to learn of your improvement! If you are experiencing discomfort beyond just some initial soreness of engaging areas of the body that were not previously being used in your swing, then there is likely an issue in your execution of the setup and/or swing motion. I say this with high confidence because the swing system I teach is a proven body-friendly method. This is further validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lower back, lead knee, _feet,_ and hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that is delivering the referenced results. What does it mean, keep the right knee back longer? Less pivot early?
@SagutoGolf13 күн бұрын
This relates to the hips, Scott. When properly deployed in sequence our hips play a role in preserving our downswing path and they can certainly provide a power boost. When prematurely rotated, all bets are off. For example, the lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor on the rotational component, thereby enabling the player to keep their upper torso square and their swing center intact without having to fight their body. It's also a move that you will notice with every great ball striker. (Cue up a face-on video of any Tour player, put your finger, mouse pointer, or some other reference tool on their lead hip at address, and then observe the extent to which the hips move laterally past your pointer in the downswing while - and this is key - the head and thus the swing center remains in place.) This will occur naturally if we allow it to, but unfortunately the misguided "fire the hips" notion has plagued so many amateurs with an early-onset spinout that makes them steep and across the line, or they get stuck, early extend, flip, etc. For them, the "feel" of the shoulders leading will help in overcoming this, correctly engaging their hips and fixing their path, thereby leading them to a solid, "crispy" impact condition. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

@ great explanation, thank you. I did get the mini course and plan to start with it in my garage today. Also, I will be in Surfside for most of this March 2025. Can we get together for some one on one lesson time in the early part of the month. Let me know how to reach you if that is a possibility. Scott

This would’ve been really fun to watch if you had tracers . Just can’t watch this without those
@SagutoGolf2 күн бұрын
Sure it would be fun, Robert, but I did not have a film crew available, nor did I want to hold up play on the course by setting it up and taking it down for each shot. I had a tracer on my student, Derek, in this video documenting his recent lesson: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHWWoa2Jr7BmnpI I also used one in this episode from a couple of weeks ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKvHdHqFl79knZo Tom Saguto, PGA

Yes - he's come a long way. It's now to the point of minor tweaks, getting the yardages dialed in, and trusting it. I just passed your comment along to Derek and I'm certain he will appreciate it very much! Tom
