Did they give the jeepney driver a ticket for having bald tires also? If you ask me that’s more dangerous than loading/unloading in a non designated area. That bald tire could blow and driver lose control of the vehicle.

You're absolutely right, Jeepneys travel with bald tires, brake lights don't come on, they release a lot of smoke, the driver has no discipline, they stop in the middle of the highway,

If you check the Facebook page of MMDA - Francis Martinez, you can see that his men are regularly removing motel-traffic signs, which he has described as "illegal ads". Some Cities are really much worse than others, allowing every lamp post, every tree, every wall to be absolutely covered in motel ads that are disguised as traffic or public safety signs. Although I'm not saying that's the case with the specific sign or motel that you highlighted in the video. You may also remember back to my other videos when the MMDA-SCOG have removed motel-traffic signs that were actually installed over the top of the official government traffic sign.

What will happen concerning Etrikes? my partner has her own for personal use only. Will drivers be eventually need to have a drivers licence and either take a car or motorbike test? It's a good idea, I told my partner to start getting her papers in order before this happens.

The IRR hasn't been released yet. But it looks like they'll simply be prohibited on the list of roads that were already disclosed. They'd essentially be limited to inner barangay roads. Those caught with a license would be ticketed. Those caught without a license would be impounded. Although realistically it's difficult for a regular fixed-post enforcer to request a tow truck. So... 🤷 But during special operations, where they bring a lot of tow trucks with them, many could be impounded.

To reduce the type of violations you saw in this video? Increase the strictness of fixed-post enforcers, not just during special operations. Pay enforcers a reasonable salary. Find a way to bring back NCAP. Expand the educational and informational campaigns. Not only on road safety and the rules of the road, but also on why enforcers need to be strict. Continue to improve mass public transport. Increase penalties for certain violations and avoid negotiating with people that want to prevent the law from being enforced, or that want to decrease the cost of penalties.

@@GadgetAddict I agree with you 100% and I hope all of the above should be implemented and enforced. However, imo what I always experienced and seen is the mentality of Filipinos. They can easy get away or forgiven by the enforcers with these kind of violations resulting to repeatitive actions and thus become part of their system.

It's mostly about comfort, a lot of these guys are used to riding motorcycles in the provinces where they don't wear helmets at all, that's why they keep a big helmet somewhere else if they need it but they will always wear the lightest they can for comfort.

Regarding the use of bicycle helmets, I was watching a vlogger from Dipilog who recently purchased a new scooter and the helmet they supplied her with was a bicycle helmet rather that a proper motorcycle helmet. But I have seen others where the dealer includes a proper helmet and even a long sleeved top with the motorcycle brand on it.

Yes, having a law or rules for e-bikes is good, because rather than helping to lessen traffic, it is getting worse because of the slow phase of driving e-bikes. The majority of the drivers of e-bikes only know how to drive, but public road safety is not one of them, and the majority of the time, when they are on the main roads, they road hug. When some of the e-bikes are limited to 20 to 30 km/h, it is not standard for national or highway roads. From my experience, sometimes e-bike drivers make a sudden turn that causes me to brake so hard, even when I'm phasing them for 20 to 30 km/h. I know how reckless they are.

Again that will be challenging because colorum RE tricycles became rampant. And a lot of the time, when you speak to the drivers, they say they were organized by, and have permission from the barangay. Whenever there's large amounts of illegal income involved, trying to stop it becomes much harder. It's frustrating because those legal franchised transport operators are put under so much pressure to modernize and improve their services, while obeying a cheap fare matrix, but their customers are being taken by illegal colorum transport 🤦

If you see the trucks that are causing major traffic on EDSA and C5, nearly every day, it's the same issue. Many of them will just drive until it explodes. They don't care if you can see the wire, if there's bulges or if it's going to cause an accident or traffic when it finally explodes. That's how it is with many jeeps and trucks unfortunately.
