Hi Jon :) Sadly KZbin decided to remove a feature called 'Branding Into'. That was what I used to display the logo. There is no way for me to add the logo to my existing videos again :( I really like my short 3 second intro and I'm super bummed that there is no way for me to add them to my old videos. Also, this was how I found out about KZbin removing the feature facebook.com/saildotlife/posts/1567657366827510. I think it's pretty awful that KZbin didn't do a better job of notifying users of this feature (Branding Intro)!

Hey Mads...thanks for the locker tip...I like the way you installed the net...will look to see what you do for the hulls side..I think i will try that this season on my boat. Looking forward to your sailing videos...

justice tek Thank you so much :) I'd love to see what kind of solution you come up with :) I'm sure you'll find a way to improve on what I've done :)

Hi Mads, Really enjoying your videos. I have three comments/ideas for you clothing locker. 1st. I think you have found the simplest and most elegant solution already, as long as your screws are strong enough to withstand the motion of your yacht at sea. What ever your final solution is, please be aware of rattles when your at sea or at anchor that may not be apparent in your marina. 2nd. Personally I would use a mesh like at the front, to prevent your clothes touching the hull when heeled over sailing. This would prevent your clothes getting wet but still allow lots of ventilation. 3rd. 'I am whispering this to you over a cold beer!' please turn your webbing door around so my OCD can not see the seams. Sorry, it is your boat not mine :), keep up the good work.

Michael Weir Thank you so much! :) 1) I like the current solution too. I would like to replace the screws with those plywood "lips" I mentioned. The aluminum against the stainless screws makes an not all that pleasant sound 2) I'm leaning that way too :) 3) Haha, my OCD hadn't noticed that and is thanking your OCD for pointing it out. One can never be too OCD ;)

Hi Made, a fiddle on edge of the shelf may be worth considering as if you store anything other than clothes there's a good chance it will dislodge and fall pass the net or fall when removing the net to gain access....... Just a thought. Cheers Jack.
@SailLife9 жыл бұрын
***** Hi Jack :) I was thinking the exact same thing :) I've gone as far as to start considering what would look best a white fiddle or a mahogany fiddle to match the other trim pieces in the boat. What do you think? White or mahogany? :)
@skookumjack9 жыл бұрын
Mahogany , it will give it definition!

***** I think I'll play around with adding a fiddle later this summer :)

You have probably long finished this project but i had an idea that may have worked that i wanted to share with you. How about adding some elastic fabric, similar in appearance to the nylon stuff you already used but elastic. Attach lengths to the bottom rail where each of the nylon strips attach. So kind of like the vertical strips continue past the bottom rail but they continue as elastic. Pass them under the bottom shelf and out the back of the bottom shelf then upwards and attach them at the top rear of the locker. This would achieve two things. The strips of elastic running vertically from the rear of the bottom shelf up past the rear of the top shelf would prevent your clothes falling off the back of the shelves and contacting the hull. The second thing it would do is provide downwards tension to the nylon front section. This would hold the nylon more taut and also cause the nylon to retract smoothly and completely, under the bottom shelf.

Hi Mads Not too sure about the technicalities with the intro ( your accompanying text) - I note Alfie posted a couple of videos today and his into seems to have survived. Good job on the locker and the superb (and labour intensive) 'arrestor gear' the U.S. carrier boys would be proud of you.😀 Maybe when you insulate the hull in hat area then clothes touching the 'back' may not be so critical or damaging.😀 Well it seems spring has most definitely come early and your luxuriant facial hair seems to have put on a growth spurt - be careful people may take you for a salty sea dog.😀😃

Norman Boyes Hi Norman :) Alfy adds his intro while editing. I used a feature in KZbin called 'Branding Into' to add my intro to all of my videos. That way I would have the option of changing the intro at a later date if I for example got a new logo. I guess that was a bad move ;) Thank you so much! Haha, it's a good think I'll be prepared if a jet ever needs to land aboard Obelix ;) Even after I insulate the hull, I still want to make sure I have as much air circulation behind the clothing as possible. I accidently left a jacket laying up against the insulated hull inside the cabin this winter when I removed it the area was wet. Yarr matey, I will be gettin' me beard trimmed before leavin' for t' US. Not too much though ;) Just enough not to get "preferential" treatment in the airport ;)

Seems like a lot of trouble for a sweater. :-) Seriously, any video is a good video. Always interested. Learning new stuff too. Now it is my turn to learn how to edit and put stuff up on KZbin. Have over four hours of video from the survey today! Found a few major issues that may stop the sale of the boat. Anyway, keep it up!
@SailLife9 жыл бұрын
MrTeneric Thanks :) Haha, I'm not that much into fashion, but I do own more than one sweater ;) If you have any questions about uploading videos to KZbin let me know. I'd be glad to help out :) Yikes, major issues... sounds bad! What a shame :( Looking forward to checking out the video and seeing those issues.

Mads, Could you possibly use a mesh or lattice screen attached to the rear of the shelves Top to bottom of the back of the locker?
@SailLife9 жыл бұрын
D Gourdine I'm considering something like :) Or I might be able to make something out of webbing although there are a lot of odd angles to consider in the back of the closet (flush with the hull). I think it'll be a fun challenge :)
@facundonunez23589 жыл бұрын
D Gourdine the mesh can use staple, its a pretty easy job that way
@SailLife9 жыл бұрын
Facundo Nuñez That would make the job pretty easy although I'm not too happy about using staples aboard the boat. I'm sure that's just me being silly ;)

Turn the webbing door around, that's the inside! All the ends and finishing are visible, it will look much nicer the other way around :-)

You should make a net for the sides of the boat so your dog can move around the boat.

Super sjov ide!
@nomansland1209 жыл бұрын

@SailLife9 жыл бұрын
@nomansland1209 жыл бұрын
Hej Mads, Har du overvejet at bruge en enhed fra et billigt rullegarden i bunden?
