Guys thank you so much for the honest review of Trinidad. As a trini its great see you enjoy your time here and best of luck on your future travels.

I learned so much from this video. Each episode is a university class in practical sailing with extra credit for FUN! Does it get any better than this? So very thankful for all the hard work filming and editing these. It takes so much work to be in media and I remember spending at least an hour per broadcast minute even on easy projects. You make it all look so effortless. I can’t thank you enough

I have been following Mads videos since the beginning and as a tech nerd I really loved the DIY videos. Since Mads had the great luck to meet Ava, I think the new ideas that Ava has integrated into the videos are very good, you complement each other very well and the result can be seen in the videos. Thank you for letting us share your journey. Many greetings from Germany ;) P.S. I was just just a week ago in Aalborg/Norresundby with my Cargo ship and had a long and funny conversation with the sea pilot who accompanied us from Alborg Bugt to Aalborg/Norresundby Port, he is also a big fan of your channel and last but not least... Happy birthday Mads.

First things first, Happy 43 regeneration Mads. And second, that tour guide was so brilliant, you must do a small guide like this on every long stay place were you been, it would be so useful for future sailors

This is one of those really great extra bonus videos you guys provide, and I love them. I think the choice to highlight a specific location you've been able to familiarize yourselves with, is such a valued benefit for following, subscribing, and liking the videos. This is legitimately the kind of practical information so many of us are looking for, it's no surprise you both provide so much. Thanks again. Truly.

Tobago's just got hit by a 15 mile oil spill ... Yesterday. The crew of the culprit vessel abandoned it and tried making scarce. Its got into the mangroves so its going to be a difficult clean up and they are trying to plug the hole in the tanker vessel. They will get it cleaned up but are worried it will damage the tourism season coming. So check the state of play if you are heading that way...

Hi Mads, when buying sunglasses look for the Amber lenses, not the green or grey. With Amber lenses, you can look into the shadows and still see, when fishing it’s easier to see into the waters depth. They make everything a little brighter, but not glare. Obviously picked the polarised lenses as well. Good to see you guys having fun.

anecdotally I've heard good things about both Grenada and Martinique for boat work too. I suppose it depends on where you are when you need the work, if you need full-service/turn-key service or more the DIY type of work and supplies.
@realulli8 ай бұрын
I suspect Martinique will be kinda expensive, since it's considered a part of France. Upside: if you're from Europe, they're considered EU. Mobile phone EU roaming applies, etc. :-)
@SailLife8 ай бұрын
From what I've heard Martinique is expensive but I have no first hand experience. We got some quotes in both Grenada and Trinidad - those where very similar.

Sailing Awen was T-boned at anchor by another Catamaran comprising their entire hull.@@SailLife There is a full-service composite repair company there. They were up on the hard within 6 hours. They were repaired and back on the water in 3-weeks. Obviously that was an insurance repair but even so, impressive due to the size of the job. Does to OEM specifications and everything on a sub 1-year old boat.

Whilst Mads may admire the neglected Amels as a potential refit, the problem with Amels is that many of the companies which made the custom parts are no longer in business. So forget about some sort of availability / ready supply to most corners of the globe, think about being able to find someone with the knowledge to repair, where possible. Then remember boat things double in price for every extra few feet of length.
