Well I wanted to watch this video but then at 1:32 I saw you're one of those people that walks his kid on a leash like a dog. I cannot see a human being degraded that much. Please stop thinking about your own convenience and be a decent human being and hold the kids hand...

Genjinai it’s about his safety not our convenience. We only do the tether when on the boat or walking the docks. Anywhere that he can throw himself into water so we can quickly retrieve him. We want him to be comfortable around the water and boats and be able to explore but also want him to be safe if he does tumble. You’ll notice through the rest the video when on land he doesn’t have it on.

I don't really want to have a long argument here but you're wrong. If it was about his safety and not because it's more convenient, then you would hold his hand. Holding his hand is the much safer option as the kid is very close to you and it's almost impossible for him to fall or bump into things. With a rope these things can happen more easily. He can fall towards you and there is no way to stop it in time with that rope. He can bump into things that you don't see. Being tied with a rope doesn't make anyone comfortable and is the exact opposite of being able to explore. All these arguments you threw out hold no ground. The only reason you do this is because it's easy to do for you, not the kid, being tied like an animal is not easy on any being. On the boat, by all means, keep his harness on. When you get him down on a dock do so with the harness but please after that, don't walk him like a dog. After thousands of years of evolution and billions of people who enjoyed life on this planet without being tied up like vicious animals, do you really think your rope does anyone good?
