Make sure you look closely at the thumbnail for a Hefty Susan sneak speak update. 😉

I was watching you put those routed dish drain cuts in your counter top. And as I was writing my suggestion. I was thinking. "He seems smart enough to have figured this one out". Scratching my head. But I made the comment anyway because you did such a awesome job. And wanted to point it out while you still have access to the shop. Next time I'll wait for the finished product before I make a suggestion. And by the way. You two have some dayum good ideas! Your creativity is very inspiring.

I'm hoping that most excellent lid in the thumbnail includes a stopper to keep the hefty susan from spinning while sailing. It would make it far easier on your organization and the bearings I think.

Sailing Uma Dan, there’s a lot of people here praising your design skills and craftsmanship, for good reason. You could already start designing for other people’s boat projects. I see a lot of career opportunities for you guys coming from this channel. What a cool portfolio you’re creating!!

I so like that you are doing this quality refit AFTER you have sailed for a couple of years and you actually know what you want from experience rather than 'I think this will work' and quality product should hold up so much better. Glad you have the funds to do it. Cheers Warren.

Tim Brennan .... this guy has skills. 30yrs of offshore sailing has shown me these are the guys that succed in sailing. With the exception of Delos, computer guys and government workers are the failures. These are the people with no life skills.

Sails dude that's totally not right. I'm a IT guy with mad building skills. You either are mechanically inclined or not. Dan obviously is. Oh and I did once work for the government as a building engineer. Quit because of the incompetent people I had to work with. So, some truth to that part. :-)
@fsoileau6 жыл бұрын
I get where you are coming from. Life skills don't always show in your typical trade skills, some trades don't show through because those TRADES were hi-jacked by Universities in the 1970's to 80's as so called "Professions". The reason most of us watch these channels are because these people are excellent story tellers. And I would bet Sailing Uma put a Crazy amount of time and effort into telling that story. That said take "Gone With the Wynns " they may not come close to the tradesman skills of Uma although they try. However their photography , story telling skills and simply CAN DO attitude you can not deny . Sometimes what inspires us is simply doing it!

The thing that I’m amazed at is that you guys started knowing very little about sailing and it seems like when you do a project such as this it’s not just how impressive it is done but I feel like even after time passes and you were to do it again it’s so well done from a planning perspective that it seems like you almost couldnt improve upon it. That is what impresses me the most. You guys don’t just do incredibly difficult projects with seaming ease but you really implement design that will stand the test of time I think. It makes the content very valuable.

Looks awesome guys! You should totally make the mat for where you step down a different colour to your sink. Watching this i was thinking it would be cool to have the sink one of the compartments of the hefty susan. Cos then you could leave dirty dishes in it until your ready to wash and have them out of sight plus you would not have a sink constantly taking up bench space. But i can't for the life of me think of a good way to drain a sink that rotates around like that haha
