Hi there, Hope you are enjoying your stay here on my frozen little island... ;) I can absolutely attest to the wind here in Iceland and also how it follows the shoreline into the fjords and then out again. In the mornings the wind usually pushes out from the mountains to the sea but later in the day the opposite happens where the sea air starts to come inland. I do bicycle touring in the summer and I remember cycling over a mountain pass very close to Djúpivogur. It was about an 80km leg rising up to about 550meters over sea level. But the hardest work wasn't the climb, it was cycling against the wind for the last 15km trying to reach Djúpivogur. The wind was all funnelling into the fjord and everything against me. Good times. Hope you have fun here. Andri

The opening drone panoramas are strikingly beautiful, and that's just the beginning of the episode. Artika is not cheap-to maintain and operate and it is a lot or work to produce the videos, so let's prove our appreciation by chipping in to share the cost.

Being a Canadian and living more than 1000 km from any ocean, I get true pleasure watching and learning about boat travel. The one thing about being Canadian is I can really relate to wearing a tuque in the hot springs. Love your videos and hope you and Sohvi always have save journeys.

You definitely have the cinematic eye for the natural beauty surrounding y’all. Little prolonged snippets of flora and fauna really add so much warmth and texture to the story of yalls journey, specially so, as you traverse the icy environments you travel. I really do have a fondness developing for you two sweeties; your fascination for and the love you feel for your winters is infectious. Thanks for being very good documentarians with gentle humors.

I really enjoyed watching this episode. The filming end editing keeps improving. From long calm sequences to action. Perfect! Keep up the good work! A little worrying to see how the small boats are strapped firmly to the ground in the ending here.... looking forward to the next chapter!

The scenery is beautiful, and the guitar music is perfect. We in the mountains of Colorado get the same sort of intense winds coming down through our canyons when the atmospheric pressure differentials between the mountains and the plains get large. Six months ago we had winds of 45 meters per second, (100 mph) and a wildfire burned down nearly 1000 houses in a single afternoon. One day later, that pressure differential brought in snow that would have kept the fire from ever happening.

There are some amazing hot pools all over Iceland. Nearly every village or town will have one and there are many other small ones dotted across the landscape. I was lucky enough to come accross a few by chance - wierd being in a warm pool surrounded by nothing but wilderness and snow capped mountains!

Your facial expressions 4mins in when you announce that you're going to a natural hotspring: priceless! And proof of you two being real Northerners aka Skandinavians. No matter how windy and cold the weather may be: Give us a hotspring (or sauna) and all is perfectly well. Loving that attitude.

I would love to try those soup/pasta cups. If you get ramen soup cups I suggest getting a little bottle of toasted sesame oil some dehydrated cabbage and leek to add to them. A couple drops of sesame oil and a pinch or two of the cabbage and leeks makes them 100% better.
