Well done on fixing the problem. A couple of ideas for future reference in case it happens again, that I had with my engine and my brother in laws engine are - 1. a blocked exhaust elbow, it was choked with soot. That was preventing water flow out of (and therefore into) my engine. 2. calcification inside the engine - on my brothers boat the engine was sitting for too long without being started and inside the engine had become calcified preventing water flow. We cleared that by learning off youtube and flushing vinegar into the engine to sit and work its magic for 3 hours then flushed it out. Old Harry caves looked very cool.
@CadohaAdventures4 жыл бұрын
You know I didn't even think about the exhaust elbow, although may be a winter job taking it off and cleaning it all out? Old Harry was super awesome up close, when the sea was calm of course 😬
@simonjconnor4 жыл бұрын
@@CadohaAdventures well in Singapore we don't really have winter :) our two seasons are basically night and day, however I did try cleaning it out, at home, at night, and it was impossible. maybe it requires the right chemical. I simply replaced mine and comparing the two inside I'm happy I gave up trying to clean it. cheers

A simple and quick way to clear a small blockage in you sea water intake. Use a manual or electric sea water pump and backflush the lines. If you pulled in debris this may push it back out. It may not always work but it cost nothing and it can't hurt to backflow the lines from time to time. You can also use your electric pumps to provide emergency water to your engen.

For the sun shower, we got a kitchen sink sprayer and a 5 in 1 connector. Take off the dinky red thing and use the connector to a) make the hose longer so easier to use and B) the lever on the kitchen sprayer is easier to control to stop the water when you don't need it. On your last video just remember, those times when things go wrong are merely a great opportunity to learn. Sailing will provide you guys with....... many great opportunities! Just always look at the bright side and things will do just fine.

We take it seriously in moments when it absolutely calls for it, but I think said moments are actually few and far between when you really think about it, well unless you're a brain surgeon, or a pilot, or a builder, perhaps? come to think about it, life is more serious for most than maybe it was (is) for me?! Anyway, for us, most of life is just an interesting ride that we all have to enjoy for as long as we can 😁😁🍻🍻⛵️

@@CadohaAdventures "We take it seriously in moments when it absolutely calls for it" No suggestion that you dont, in fact quite the opposite. You're both aware when you're out of your depth then act & plan accordingly. Seriously need another round of Dom verses Hank eating contest though!

Another great video, well done. My only comment after using solar showers for years is, we prefer a small 2-3 lt garden sprayer with some hot water out of the kettle 👍
@CadohaAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Filling it with a kettle seems like it's give you warm water, although does that not (just a little bit) defeat the point of the 'solar' aspect of the shower? 😁😁 Don't gitme wrong, I can totally get behind burning some fossil fuels to get me a hot shower, but Carly is insisting we try more to save the planet.
@ianhelleren48904 жыл бұрын
Sailing Cadoha absolutely, but it saves waiting 3 or 4 hrs for it to warm up ( you could put the water from the bag in the sprayer). The good bit is that you get a refreshing shower for about 1lt of water. We also found that the bags didn’t last that long, but the sprayer lasted years. I should fess up, we don’t use the sprayer anymore as our 411 has a shower, but we did use one for about 10 years. Love your work.👍

You guys are a riot. A 15-20hp could get you out of trouble...instead of just sitting on the stern rail. Powerboat owners use them in case of emergency. I had one on our blue water fishing boat to get to an oil rig or... So, if you and Hank are family, why is your red hair long & curly and his is short and straight? :) You know if Carly's hair was red also, this channel would REALLY take off!

Studland Bay is one of the nicest quietest and most idyllic anchorages - until someone selfish starts blasting music or puts the telly on for goodness sake. Don't be so selfish - sound carries a long way over water on a still night.

We spend a lot of time on the waters all around the purbecks and have sailed our boat around the world numerous times. We are now in our 60s. We love young people enjoying the water and exploring the seas.We've spoken to the lovely young couple on Buccaneer, who have created a truly beautiful boat. The time, skill and patience involved to make this happen is something incredible. Though im afraid Lotophagi, this is something you could not do or posses. Here's a suggestion, if you have a problem with something have some integrity and talk face to face with people, Don't hide behind a computer and be petty. Thank you for Sailing Cadoha for a great video and also to your friends of Buccaneer, ourselves and all the boating world love what you have done to that old boat! keep up the great work. Lotophagi - get a life.

@@justintaylor7833 If he anchored next to me and he was playing his TV loud I'd ask him to turn it down. If he wouldn't, I'd try and move. It's irrelevant what he has done to his boat. You know nothing about me - I have a very fine life thank you. I suggest you get some perspective. I'm commenting on a video for goodness sake.

@@lotophagi711 You need to keep your negative uninformed comments to yourself. On any given hot day in Studland you'll find hundreds of boats anchored up, I hope you have the time in the day to get around to everyone. By you calling someone a git without knowing them or making a judgement without witnessing for yourself, says a lot more about you than the people your talking about. I wish you well and lets hope your next comments are positive and educated.

@@justintaylor7833 Yes, but the kids go home in the early evening leaving the bay in peace and quiet (apart from the odd tour boat blasting out disco music). You are correct, I shouldn't have called him a git. I always forget that some people have no sense of humor or proportion.
