I would say not to be concerned about heading up theought the kyles, in my experience the trip from Holy Loch to Rothesay is way more challenging than the trip up the kyles, once you get up into the kyles its a lot more sheltered and the tidal races aren't really anything to write home about. The anchorages up at the top of bute are well worth a visit. We have a lot of sailing content coming, we have done about 9 weeks of sailing this year so lots of adventures to cover. Once we run out later in the year though we will be doing some more content similar to what you mentioned, reviewing our upgrades, cost of ownership, favourite anchorages etc. so watch this space and there should be more content

It's a really nice stop off if you are heading down/up that way, we love it ☺️

Great to see you back out in the Clyde. You seem to be very unlucky with the weather as we have had some great sailing weather earlier this season.

😂😂 we really did get unlucky this time, and later on in the year we go back, and it is still super cold! 🥶🥶 Typical that now the weather is mega here, Tim is back working all summer so we can't get back out until October!

Having anchored down at Rothesay a couple of times (out from Holy Loch) the Kyles are my next 'babystep' in extending my sailing experience. I'd love you to do a 'cost of buying / maimtaining / upgrading' video!

The Kyles were one of our step-ups as well! They are really nice and right at the tippy top are some beautiful anchorages. ⚓ I shall add that to our list of videos as I think it could be an interesting one 👍

Can you tell me if you have upgraded your gas installation on your Etap. Ours is rubber hose and needs replacing with copper tube but am not sure about routing at stern. Thanks

We haven't done it ourselves but someone has in the past. We have a rubber hose in the gas locker, then it goes to copper pipe which runs through the space on the stern, into the port cockpit lockers and forward to the galley. It's been done in a fairly rudimentary way but doesn't leak so is in the not broken don't fix category at the moment.
