So much is happening in this episode, we sail over a RED ALERT EXCLUSION ZONE just north of Grenada, we get the boat ready for our next big passage, our engine causes Asher a fair amount of grief, we explore the wonderful waterfalls of Grenada and we lose something rather important. Enjoy!

Artisanal gaskets! LOL! Really like your series. I like how you find issues (auto pilot not good enough) and solve it (bought a wind vane). Enjoying your watching progress.

A thought on halyard chafe. I buy a halyard about 30 inches longer than I need and attache the shackle with a halyard knot. This 1) creates a stop at the shackle so it can't be pulled into the sheave and 2) allows me to cut 6 inches off the halyard every now and again, depending on how much I've sailed the boat, and tie a new knot. This moves the potential point of chafe so it never occurs in a meaning full way. When I've run out of extra halyard to do this, it is likely time for a new halyard anyway.

We also have a Torqeedo and had only one "key". Our friends made us a spare "key" out of a strong magnet on a lanyard. Its not perfect but it gives peace of mind in case anything happens to the original.

You need plumbers paste or liquid teflon for your seals

About your leak : think about your casting that could have bubbles inside, and leak due to that, only at high temp.

Gday guys from a grey-haried Aussie couple board sv Zen Again in the UK refilling the cruising kitty to sail home to Fremantle. "Freshen the nip" of your halyards regularly - you can't eliminate chafe on them. ie Chop off a foot or so after each ocean crossing. Love ya work! We're on youtube and blogspot if you get bored under lockdown.

With that pitting on the housing where the 90 pipe fits you might be fighting a loosing battle with trying to seal it. Could do with a flat surface for the gasket to seal against. Stick with it though I’m sure you will fix it :) throw a little more ptfe tape or sealant at it.

Yep, I’m turning into the Jeremy Clarkson of plumbing 😂 “MORE THREADTAPE!! MOOORE SEALANT!!!” One day it’ll stop leaking.

@@sailingbacchushome944 Haha! - the other idea to stop leaks and also for your artisanal gasket shop in London is to perhaps make a thicker gasket ;)

Hi Asher and Dani, I have just been binge watching your blog, during lockdown in the uk...Really enjoying watching your adventures. We have the same yacht so its particularly interesting for me to watch it. I have a couple of questions about your boat, firstly what size/weight Rocna anchor have you got? and secondly what make is your windlass? Hope to hear from you, best wishes to you both, and stay safe, cheers

Hi Clive! Great to hear from a fellow 361 owner! Our rocna is the 20kg model, and so far (touch wood) it hasn’t dragged an inch. We’ve got 70m of 8mm chain, and a Lofrans Project X2 windlass (the 1000 watt one). As backup ground tackle, we have a 15kg danforth on chain + nylon warp.

@@sailingbacchushome944 Many thanks for the information, very useful. Our boat is in Corfu, and am making a list of upgrades for when we can eventually get back out there. I will continue watching your exploits though, with best wishes, Clive
