Another fascinating video, thanks for including the chart descriptions, combined with the sailing footage we get a good feel for the scope of the voyage. Also, loved the humor at the end. Looks like you are enjoying all of this, great!

Well done Mike & Lisa!! It's a long old haul from Padstow to Milford Haven without many options if the weather got worse. But then again with a well-found double-ender with sea-kindly manners it just offers you that edge & gives a boost to confidence. What a great choice Swallow is turning out to be. Chin-chin Rej

I love Padstow and Porlock which are both honey pots. Remember going upto Padstow in thick fog and just touching the bar gently but it was daylight 🤣
@sailingcosiloveit2 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard you know if you touch the bar the “doom bar” you have to get everyone in the pub a pint. Cheers mike

I spent a year there before going up the Bristol Channel. Beautiful water.

I certainly could spend more time there if only I had it to spare 👍

@@sailingcosiloveit be sure to visit the best fish & chip shop in the country. With your back to the train station walk over the bridge and about 300 yards up the hill on the right. Bloody brilliant fish & chips

Hi Mike Forgive the question, but what type of yacht is Swallow please? Rich
@sailingcosiloveit2 жыл бұрын
Rich you're forgiven but please ask any question you like at any time no matter. Swallow is a British built Scanyacht 290 which is a revised version of a Scandinavian built LM27. Please look back through my videos and you will find a video outlining the difference between the two. mike

I don't see the problem with bow thrusters, I don't have one myself, but I'd have appreciated one from time to time. I don't see them as any more of a 'cheat' than reversing sensors on a car.

Hi Justin to me it’s just another boating aid, there is loads of aids on the boat including the main engine and propeller which I would not be without by choice. It gives me extra options and I count it into my calculations to make my life a little easier. It was on the boat when I got her so it would be unfair of me not to let it join in the fun every now and then so I’m agreed with you mike

Walking my dog in the marina in Malahide, Dublin, I thought I saw Swallow on the outer berth and you'd made it across the Irish Sea :), but on closer inspection, I don't think it was you, was it?

No sorry, all that customs and passports plus COVID. Will be waiting a bit before I venture across the pond. I do miss Ireland though mike
