Always enjoy your narration. I don’t know how you remember all that detail. You really are getting a lot out of that boat. I noticed when you were close hauled, the genoa looked v close to the spreader tip. Or is it just the camera angle?

Hi, I’m a new boater so still learning the ropes, noticed on the buoy you picked up it had a boat name on it, what’s the etiquette with these, do they belong to that boat and if they return you move to another? Great vids I’m based just a bit further up at Preston.

I’ve just watched this a second time. Your videos influenced me to buy a Crabber myself (and create my own YT channel). It’s only on this second watching several years later, I realise how many clever mods you made. I’ve enjoyed your recent trip logs too - keep em coming.

When sailing close to the wind, like at the end of the video: 1. The genoa is too large, so your sheet track is not long enough, this can be fixed by furling the genoa slightly. 2. The mainsail needs a reef, and the mainsheet should be tightened. Kind regards, fellow sailor in a LM 27

Hi Mike, this is the Simon family from Michigan in the USA. I’m wondering if you’re going to be near enough to Liverpool which we are visiting in mid March 2025? Our family loves to sail and we would enjoy it to either meet you in a pub or meet you on a boat. Love your videos!

Thanks for this excellent guide. Something that made me cringe, though, was watching you work with two spanners right above the briny deep. When I do this job, I'll tie a length of string through the ring end of the spanner, with the other end attached to my belt loop or something. I long ago figured out ways to deal with my butterfingers.
@sailingcosiloveitАй бұрын
I once had two spanners with a short loop between them in class I dropped one. One day I did and it willed the other one out of my other hand on the way down and I lost two 🤣 oh how I laughed 😳

"Seaside entertainment", ... well, here in North-Germany this is called "Hafenkino", ... nothing better than watching with a cooled beer in your hand, ... above all, the mooring manoeuvres, the elderly skipper at the helm, screaming wildly, his woman at the bow with the mooring lines, screaming wildly back and all people laughing ...

Hi Mike hope all is well. A short season this year for me due to poor weather windows. I’ve been searching through your videos to find the one about the sails. You said you were pleased with price, quality and service plus you reduced your Genoa. I am thinking of doing the same as I seam to be constantly overpowered and sail better with it slightly reefed plus it’s a very heavy material making it difficult to get going in light winds. If it’s not too much trouble can you send me a link to the video and to the manufacturer. Many thanks. Take care. Roy
@sailingcosiloveitАй бұрын
Hi Roy They are Far east sails. Good value for money but if your going to keep the craft for many years I may go to one of the better known uk sail makers as I can’t vouch for the longevity of this product. The smaller foresail was a winner though. Sorry mike
