Hi Guys. Just to say goodbye and good luck. I came by Great Circle this afternoon but no sign of life! Enjoyed our drinks with you last night. Hope we see you down the line. John and Lucy

On taking down the spi: it is all about letting the sail to spill the wind and in your setup it is more tricky as you also have guys in addition to sheets. Normally you just let go the sheet for long enough for sail to collapse and take it from there. But in your case the guys keep the sail filled.

Great team work bringing down the sail!! keep the wind at your back and smooth sailing!!👍🏾💥💥👍🏾

If your having trouble dousing the spinnaker, aside from releasing the never-ending line, you can pull the jib out and allow the spinnaker to collapse behind the jib (in the wind shadow). Love your videos and we'll catch up to you in 4 to 5 years again! -SV Roundabout

Yes that’s one of the options we still have in our back pocket. Going faster on the engines is an other one and we were discussing whether raising the main dead downwind with a tight main sheet and holding the reefing lines tight would be an extreme possibility as well. The spi is so much more stable without the main when sailing…

greetings from Italy! I too have been to the Los Roques islands and stayed in Posata Caracol, often going windsurfing on Francisqui Island, top. I follow you and dream with you. I am glad that someone is able to live moments like this. Your catamaran is truly performing! I am very attached to the sea If you can go for lunch at the Posada Caracol (you eat like in Italy) Ciao ragazzi

Mark, for a longer passage what is your average speed? Can you make 240 miles a day reliably? Thanks for the videos and keep them coming please. Good luck
@CatGreatcircle2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the wind of course but so far we have done around 9,5 knots on average on all the bigger crossings. Mostly downwind, a smaller TWA would definitely be faster

Love your OR 55. Whats your thoughts on Rapido 60 trimaran ? Trimarans are popular in Europe ?
@CatGreatcircle2 жыл бұрын
I can’t really judge the Rapido. I know that they’re really fast, seem to have very little space and make a lot of noise when they’re anchored behind you in a rolly anchorage slamming the third hull on the water all the time

@@CatGreatcircle Hi, that was just my opinion. Been to both places, but always flying as my boat would not be able to tour the seven seas. Keep enjoying these wonderful trips.
