I've seen hundreds of sailing videos, this is by far the coolest one, nothing like a father and son getting quality time together.

It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I am a happy Siren 17 owner and i can say your videos capture the real nature of this little lovable sailboat. I appreciate the father and son atmosphere too. Well done!

Just came across your marquesas video and I'm up to adventure 5 now. Fun stuff. Simple pleasures. Your wealth extends far beyond your waterline. Your son is very enjoyable to watch as he develops into a young sailor. Thank you! Enjoy life!

Great video ! Both you and your son are naturals in the water, good to see, no one freaking out with seeing sharks. I have been a scuba diver for over 30 years and I still love snorkelling. Better colors and the fish just seem friendlier when free diving. Have a safe trip. Ron W.

Ron Weiss thanks very much. Those sharks are harmless but always a bit uneasy seeing one.

Great video, your son well have fond memories of these trips, I live part-time in the Keys, I purchased a Dana 24, I live on it full time, very spacious boat and has blue water capabilities, I almost bought a Siren 17 but wanted something a little bigger, I'm going to sail up the west coast of Florida and enter the Suwannee River and go inland as far as I can, this river offers very good protection during hurricane season .

sc1212able thank you! Dana 24 is an amazing boat. That sounds like an interesting trip. I'll have to check it out.

You can go inland for 116 miles, then you would have to drop your mast at the OLD Town bridge, which is state rd 98, the siren might clear, plenty of places to get supplies, lots of fresh water springs to checkout, because its a popular river to canoe and kayak, the state has built some camping areas, that offer, hot showers, and electric for free, the docks are big enough to accommodate several boats, lots of videos on KZbin about the river and camping sites

Re-watching some of these oldies. I like the song "Just the Two of Us" in the background. What if maybe 20 years from now its the three of us. You, Nicholas, and grandson (just a funny thought).

Nice video, is your boat a 17' Siren? I almost bought a similar boat prior to purchasing a 20' Oday. I currently sail and live part time aboard a Columbia 28mkII. I still have the Oday and really miss small boat sailing (bigger is definitely not always better, lol). I had years of travel enjoyment around the Great Lakes region aboard the O'day. I should get the old O'day out and refurbish her....Gary in Michigan aboard sv Paladin.
@AllenMichaelsVlogs7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gary! You're correct she's a Siren 17. Both Columbia and Oday are great sailboats. Yes with small boats you get to really feel the elements both the wind and the ocean.
@highwatercircutrider7 жыл бұрын
I sailed alot more when I was sailing the little O'day. The bigger Columbia requires so much more effort to go out (and at least one crew at my age, 66). So i restored a little 16' Glasspar cabin cruiser that gets used weekly.
