Great video, never too long, your passion is sincere, especially provisioning. I too love cooking, creating meals, we amaze ourselves in the space we have. The propane is great, but we are going with induction. We have the solar, and seeing other sailors, they use that daylight to use their instapots, and possibly baking in that convection oven. I have been doing research and my propane stove is old, so technology will help in our quest of gourmet meals. Yeah that hammock is big, but, it does work, I am hanging mine in the main head, not over the toilet. Smells great in there, and it’s cooler too! Be safe in your passage, Fair Winds, S/V Far Niente 👍😎⛵️

very nice video. And I was surprised those two tanks of propane will last you approximately 8 months. I think your food purchases were well thought out. With the produce and fruit, I've seen a lot of boaters hanging outside the boat, but the same number from the inside. Sometimes in and out. As time goes by, you'll figure out where exactly those hanging produce and fruit will finally go. Personally, for me I do think where you have it hanging in this video will be getting in then way. Hope the weather window for you leaving was a good one. Catch you next video.

Wow, that dinghy dock wasn't there when we were. I don't know about now, but 30 years ago we went to the market in town to get produce. They were experienced with cruisers making the crossing and would give you green and not qutie as green tomatoes, and other veggies that would last a long time. Plus we wrapped stuff in brown paper. It was free delivery to the marina, too. We had a lot of popcorn for evening watches. It was a great experience.

I’m prejudiced, I don’t think you can beat Propane for cooking tbh, but my next Sailboat I’ll have enough Solar plus wind with good battery storage plus a high output alternator on the inboard diesel engine, so it will be really worth getting one of those portable induction hobs, and use that to get everything up to cooking temperature before finishing cooking with Gas, which should save a heck of a lot of Gas. Electric does work well with slow cookers/ Crockpots, as well as with Bread makers.I think it’s the appliances and cookware that I like, which have forced me into getting a bigger boat tbh.Bob . PS Damn, almost forgot the Toasted Sandwich Maker. 🤣🤣🤣
@SailingJibsea11 ай бұрын
Hahaha it sounds like you e got all the appliances!! Wish we had the space for all those, but I guess it’s a good thing the propane burns slow and we get lots of cooking time with each tank
@brownnoise35711 ай бұрын
@@SailingJibsea Unlike Butane, Propane still works in extreme cold too, and the frost on the Tank works as a level indicator for how much Gas you have left.🤣👍Bob. ⛵️❤️

@@SailingJibsea Well tbh, they're the ones I've had, and made most use of, another really good to have on a boat, is a pressure cooker, and the nicest ones I've had so far, have been a small and medium sized zstainless Steel ones I got from Amazon in the USA. The very worst appliance I've bought, was an alcohol Cooker I bought and installed - Never Again, the times I got burned and the Alcohol it Consumed was far from good. Best Wishes. Bob. 👍🌟🌟🌟❤️

@johnrathbun294311 ай бұрын
I'm very curious about your boat. You said your boat is a Hunter 42. When ever I see a Hunter it reminds me of a Catalina. But everyone talks bad about Hunters. What are your thoughts about the Hunter boat? What do you think the Hunter needs? The Catalina doesn't get bad reviews but the Hunter does. Everyone says the reason why they are so cheap is because they use really bad equipment and undersized gear. Can you give me your input? I noticed that you have a keel stepped mast. Catalina don't have keel stepped masts. But I do like the inside of your boat.
@SailingJibsea11 ай бұрын
Not sure where the bad rep for what seems to be only towards Hunters came from but from our personal experience with our model, we have no complaints. Everything is solid, hence trusting her ability to carry us across the ocean now twice and over 20k nm
