In 1967, a young David Lynch grabbed his new Bolex 16mm camera, to film his friend and mentor Bushnell Keeler and brother Dave Keeler sailing on the Chesapeake Bay in Bush's King's Cruiser. This was David' Lynch's very first film.which he prefers to call a "home movie". It depicts a man, a painter, who changed David's life forever pursuing the artist's life, which he continues to this day.
On August 16th, 2012, at age 87 Bush passed on after a brief illness. His masterful artwork shall live on. See it for yourself at BushnellKeeler.com
Thanks to the generosity of David Lynch, the Bushnell Keeler Scholarship Fund has been established at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis for painting workshops with materials included.
If you are so moved to join David by contributing to Bush's memorial fund, you should contact Becky Batta, Director Annapolis Senior Activity Center, Anne Arundel County Department of Aging & Disabilities 119 South Villa Ave.Annapolis, MD 21401 E-Mail: annapoliscenter@aacounty.org

I can't begin to express what I felt watching daddy (Bush) uncle David with dads protégé David Lynch. The most influential people in my life. They don't even know it. Lynch is my spiritual mentor, and I don't believe he knows it. It almost had me in tears.I have become the creative women I believe my father knew that I was to be even as a child. Him and I will never have the chance to connect that way. I think he would be very proud of the work I am now doing. I still hold on to the hope that I will get together with David Lynch some day. Closest person to the father that I wish to know about. I also dream and envision working with him. I believe he would be very interested in a film I am trying to bring together, but I am doing it alone and it's really impossible to do that way. If it's my destiny and in his, some how it will happen. Until that, love to you my two David's.

Your dad was immortalized in the new Twin Peaks revival! I'm sure Lynch would love to talk to you, especially about what you're working on. He's very active on social media; maybe you can send him an email to talk it out. Good luck, Robin!!

Just when you think you've seen it all. It's funny looking at this after seeing all his work. The use of slow-motion, ambient noise, dream-like quality of the sunshine. And that one shot of a very young Lynch. If I didn't know this was early Lynch, I would have thought it was someone paying homage to his style.

Simply amazing. I’ve never seen this. And it’s just amazing that a lot of David’s style is already present in this film. Tilted camera angles, the editing style, the sound track. Thank you so much for sharing! Happy New Year Linda!

Super 8 or 16mm? There's a bit more skill in finding right exposure to those old film cameras. I justed noticed in description that it was a Bolex 16mm. It's the same type of camera I used at Cal state Northridge in 2016.

I could be wrong, but it seems it was added later. For two main reasons, the quality of the sound and the sound itself seems to be the wind sound that was captured by Alan R Splet, a sound that Lynch talks about it very often, and its in many of his movies. But it does match the image, beautifully. Toby K. can clarify that for us though. Can you Mr. K ?

Definitely added later on. I guess he edited the movie together years later and added the sound effects, slow motion, etc.
