Ok some of us are watching at 2 am and dont need to wake the family so no large booming bass and for that matter we dont need "music" at all. Talk to us or nothing at all you dont neeed to make it a TV broadcast production. This should be an interesting project. Good luck

Great job... Captain on the MEGA foam , mold. A couple of thought... 1. When glassing the shape. Make sure to glass in ribs.. areas where the glass will be thicker. 2. At those areas, down the whole replacement mold shape... glass in , cross members, just like a canoe seat, you may have to drill thru the new glass, and put a metal plate, on both side and screw them together, (( temporary)).. Heres why,. Yes your going to Jack up the whole thing in the foam mold shape to see where to make the LENGTH cuts, and bow it fits... That right,.. but then , after you have the LENGTH of the replacement done. Under the boat. You roll the plub back in to where it gos. "" then use, 1" truck straps, on the supports that go from side to side. This why, you Jack it up into place, the straps one on each cross member inside hull and outside hull, ( like a tree swing ). The foam is removed, you then have the whole DAME replacement hull you made hunging on trucks straps, a few inches away from where you have to make the epoxy bond, a d glass the part into place.. CAPTAIN.... NOTE just because the hull replacement is hanging. Put blocks of foam to support it under it. This way you can still walk in side of it and touch up. It's going to be a bitch to alone that big of a hull piece line it up, epoxy it, Jack it into place and secure it. The truck straps, will be the means... to keep it tight to where the bond is. I would have big, pan head washers. Tiny thru rod cut, drill have a pan head nut and lock washer on one end. Then when you push it thru...quickly,.. run that other side pad head washer and nut and lock washer.. quickly. Check, bond first, dont over smash it and squeeze all the epoxy out. Rent extra hands for that day.. you only get one try.. hold a class on what every one part is.. give, names to singles. 6 people yelling different crap, one persons is in charge. Everyone DOSEN'T talk. Only to say what they need... when that MEGA, part is glassed and strapped and bolted so it can't move as it drys... tosse one DAME big pizza party...

You need to look for a Wet Out machine. This machine will impregnate the glass fibre as the glass fibre rolls through it from one roller to another roller. I’ll bet you are well advanced in the rebuild process.

Ty & Fam. Such impressive planning & engineering, combined with hands on know how. While you may have not been working with boats for a long time, it’s clear that you have decades of practical problem solving experience, and the essential even temperament to make it all work. From electronics to engines, plumbing and structural design - this is a masterclass!

Hi there SD family...👋 I was awake and sleepless so I thought I would watch this. I'll come back afterwards and post some nice comments. Cheers Edit: I'm so glad you guys know what you are doing - I haven't seen the Sailing Dauntless series - I pick your channel up when you goths phone call to go buy this yacht! Ha ha. Man this job is way bigger than even I thought it was going to be.😱🤪😜 It must be nice to have a project knowing you have the money behind you to allow you to do it right the first time - new engines, etc. You can always refurbish them and sell them off afterwards. Your work seems faultless so far so this is going to be one nice yacht when you have finished. Have you decided which yacht you will keep and which you will sell - or will you just keep both between all the family? See you next week.

I would have used a drywall finishing compound over the foam as a intermediate layer over the foam, Light sand and painted it to seal then glassed over. Much less fairing work with expensive and hard to sand materials. Not saying that is the absolute way to go but how I have prepped foam molds in the past.

Hi... I have a question that might be silly.. but bear with me.. why don't you use the undamaged hull as a mould? I think it will save more time than do the mould using the foam and of course, not to worry about twisting or moves etc and it's definitely identical...
