Fishing with the locals, no better way to learn the local waters and techniques. I love eating fresh caught fish. Not a sushi kinda guy , but do like my fish fried, baked, broiled or grilled. Great video guys... Thanks.

It's awesome that a local would just take you out fishing! That's so different than I'm use to where people want to hide their fishing spot. My wife is so intrigued by the fishing. She loves fish so much...especially if it's fresh. I like fish but can't eat it more than once or twice a week...More of a beef, lamb, or pork guy. We have a freezer on board so keeping meats is easy. I would call what your doing taking the sampler tour then you can choose what you like best and go back for the Cook's Tour. There is much to fall in love with. Keep living the dream!

I love your humility and admiration for both the nature and culture in the Caribbean. Your stories are just the best, because they just look authentic and you’re not trying to show off. Going fishing with the local fishermen, that was just perfect. I wish you all the best on your adventures, save travels, and stay the way you are!

A very "natural" footage, and tutorial too! For fishing Ryan is getting his nose sunburn...!! After catching a fish and bringing it aboard, a few DROPS of alcoholic drink (rum, ouzo ect) in the fish gill will kill it immediately, avoiding agony to the poor fish.... I love fresh row fish, marinated (carpaccio): make fillets and poor lime/lemon juice for a while; then drain it and dress it with little salt, pepper, origano and olive oil. For big fishes, slice its upper part for making other recepies, but then make fillets for immediate consumption with the part near the tail (the best)! Love Elena's enthusiasm for "paradise" lifestyle.... Buon vento!

Elena, what a masterful and touching edit. Brother Ryan, was all smiles and quite giddy. The new found affinity Ryan has with the local fishman is touching. As the scripture states: ' there's more happiness in giving than receiving.' the fact that Ryan provided your/hs boat put a smile on his face and food for sale for his neighbors and family. a win-win all around. as for me, here in the southwest of France, amongst the oak trees, wild sheep and wild boars that destroy my lawn, i wish that i could share a bottle of Monbazillac with you two and enjoy the sushi as well. Sweet soy sauce, wasabi, and fresh ginger make a delightful enhancement to this ocean repas. I did not miss the clothes pin neither, a touch of your sea home.

I live on the eastern side of Vancouver Island which is in the Pacific. You can go to an area here and cast your line right from the shore and catch different species of salmon pretty easily. The hard part is getting the fish onshore before the seals come along and steal it from you.

What a lovely video guys. And the Tuna looks great. Fresh Tuna steak mmmmm. Here it’s out from our local Sainsbury’s counter. Not quite the same. Seen a Sadler 26 at what looks like a good price. Possibly tempted but mooring here is an arm and a leg. Need to think hard on a limited pension. Anyway I wish you fair winds tides and currents.

I remember when I was a kid and this kind of fishing was still a thing in Adriatic sea here in the "Med" a few decades ago. Now its almost completely dead and commercial fishing is destroying what's left of the life in it. Yeah, you don't need fancy gear. 90% of your success depends on the bait and live one is usually the best. Small squids are probably golden for bigger fish, if you can keep them alive. I do not agree on the spear fishing though. It is overall sustainable yes, just not for the most tastier kind of fish ;)
