Don't usually comment. But HOLY COW. This video was phenomenal. From the drone shots, to the swimming, to the little get togethers, to the new boat, to the heart to heart, to the non-stop gorgeous sunsets... everything. Your videos are usually a solid 8 or 9. But this was a definite 20 out of 10! That slow shot of the sail unrolling literally gave me shivers, and I've never stepped on a boat before. Couldn't stop grinning from start to stop. So happy for y'all. Cheers! Ok. I'm done.

Haha. At 6:27 "Off camera, I must admit, I've been hammering her quite a bit" That is all. I don't mean to insinuate any further than the quote but seems like you had a good birthday after all. Been watching from the start and this was a great one. The aspect I have most enjoyed is watching the evolution of your sailing skills, but mostly I have enjoyed your missteps. You started so raw, and then you had a little bit of a miscalculation of what people would want to watch, and you corrected so quickly. We love to watch you because you are happy, beautiful people on the inside and (won't deny it,) the outside as well. Your laughing together, and at each other, are some of the most touching moments on youtube. I love that you can "argue" with a smile on your face and a kiss after it's done. More bloopers would be appreciated as well! (Im on episode 98 and working backwards since I missed a bit but the bloopers re: the sponsorship comment were golden.) Good onya.

Love the sit down heartfelt sendoff of the video, it really wrapped up what was to that point Cinematic fun and a sail! Tip of the hat to Daniel and Elay on this edit! (Daniel that sunset timelapse framing was superb) IMO The flow of this video is right up there in top 5 SLV vids, for flow (movielikeness) those two 50 minute episodes were epic in movie making as well . Riley Happy Belated Birthday my friend, what a week indeed! Hey Riley, when we gonna see your first love strapped at the Helm again, lest we forget Bilgie after all was there before Elay, she deserves some piloting time she was a crucial part of your recent solo sail. Would love to see the fun of you two work again on some night navigation shifts, just sayin ;) Elayna and Riley again the message at the end we really get it, we really do. This each week is Such a relaxed escape of fun and blue waters for all of us witnessing your journey. Cheers Steve

Lest we forget, they're on a cat now. This means Bilgie has a TWIN SISTER! Ooh, lah, lah. I think the potential exists for some serious counseling for this group! In truth I'm exceptionally happy for this new clan as they set off into the great unknown, again. I'm proud of them for not being ashamed of their successes and for grabbing onto the opportunity for more comfort and new experiences that came about as a result of their hard work. I'm jealous as hell of where they're at (literally and figuratively), but certainly not spiteful of them just because my situation isn't comparable. Simply put, my life's path hasn't yet come close to converging with a cruising lifestyle.Yet. I simply cannot understand or tolerate those that would spew hate and disdain upon someone simply for accomplishing something that they themselves aspire to. That sort of behavior is indicative of the emotional maturity of someone in the 8-12 year old range. Currently raising two teenage daughters alone. These types of emotional reactions are just one of the many, many ways of communicating in an unhealthy and unproductive manner. In general, KZbin's comments section is proof enough that an embarrassingly high percentage of grown-ass adults don't exhibit or possess the ability to communicate at least at a level commensurate with about a 12-14 year old girl. (By and large it's safe to assume that the emotional maturity level for boys typically lags behind girls relative to development by a good 2-4 years.) Humans, for the most part, have done pretty well as prospering and moving humanity forward. My only regret about advancements in technology, particularly in the segment of social media, is that it's made it incredibly easy for stupid people to be stupid people. Not only that, people generally feel OBLIGATED to share their opinion, whether it was solicited or not. Y'all have a great sail, looking forward to catching up with you upon your next upload. Stay proud, stay humble, stay positive. You guys are genuinely beautiful souls. Bless you all! A big healthy ADIOS going out to you guys all the way from the Texas Gulf Coast! Much love.

Being a new viewer, I first watched a couple of the videos where the new boat was first seen and sailed. I decided to top there and go back to watch from the start. I’m so glad I did. You are amazing spirits, adventurous and kind. Your struggles with failing equipment and cooking while rocking away on the open seas brought respect for your unwavering determination. Showing us the happiness, frustration, and love you share with each other and with sailing keeps me looking forward to where you will lead us. To those missing La Vagabonde I, I get it. Yet I feel La Vagabonde II has been well-earned and deserved. Just as life goes, so goes La Vagabonde and her captains and crew. Looking forward to new experiences and all that comes with them; a connect voyeur of other’s worlds.

Hello to you both... plus Daniel. It's great to see you back on the water. I'm sure I can safely say on behalf of all of us: "you're welcome, it's our pleasure". (ref 13:40) I've been with you guys now since early 2015 (I think... it feels longer) and commented once before on the changes since you added a cameraman. Lets call it the "Daniel Factor". The improved production quality is great. No doubt! However my previous comment noted that what comes on camera is now less "intimate". We now see mostly what Daniel sees. We used to see what Riley saw and what Elayna saw. Your comment at the end where you say "thanks" included a comment by Elayna that she changes her behaviour when Daniel is nearby and whispers to Riley... It is this view into the relationship that makes your story so special. You could be me and my wife 25 years ago ! It's form of magic. I realise it's a compromise but I miss that stuff. It's not about the sailing or the boat or the destination. It's about YOU guys. The human story. From up on the Cliff at Hallett Cove, I wish you guys all the best. Cheers Damien

Watching your journey is so bitter sweet. You two are as adventurous as you are humble, and it makes watching your story that much better. "Good on ya". I started watching your videos while working in an office, sitting in front of a computer, and wishing I could join you. Since then, I quit my job, found one that suited me better, moved blocks from the beach in Southern California (open invitation to you two (+ camera man) if you ever pass through Long Beach or Huntington Beach), and have begun reaching out to the local yacht clubs to see if they need extra hands on deck. I know you get this a lot ... because I've written this before, read it in your comments, and have heard you say this ... you've been an inspiration. I say bitter sweet, because every time I watch your videos, as much as I love them, I wish I could stop what I'm doing to go live on my own boat that sails around the world ... but alas, that is not my reality at the moment. I wish you all the best in your life. You set the bar pretty high ... but that's okay, I'm up for the challenge. Hope to sail along side you one day. Cheers!

The video is beautiful. I have been following you all for some time, and the thing that makes your videos stand out is that they are candid, and real, and we can feel a sense of you both. So while it is so awesome I imagine to have someone helping with your videos now, please don't let the feel of the videos get so slick that rawness is lost. Some music is great, however hearing you all talking, the water lapping, the sound of the sails snapping from the wind, and you responding to leaning your new boat, is really some of the coolest way we get to share your journey. One of my favorite parts of the video was the end, where you were both expressing how wow this week, your life, and the new boat feel. Your excitement for your life is who you two are, don't stop showing it, or feel you have expressed it too much. Gratitude is something that feeds the world, and you have every reason to feel that bubbling up in you as you begin this chapter with your new boat. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Yea Kevin Z is right on...Having an additional person to video, edit and add emotion and sensitivity to your videos is just excellent. I'm sure you Riley and Elayna always had the idea for videos like this but combined with Daniel this is just great guys. You wasted no time getting to the heart of movie-making, editing and choosing the right music. It's only going to get better and the adventure is starting...again.Riley, nice way to end the video, I get it, it's big in the great scheme of things and you two are riding a big wave. Elayna, I know exactly what you are saying about the fact that it's all so good and that nagging feeling of... will it last? Sailing always seems to have some inherent scary moments but so does life on land. I would say just roll with it and enjoy your adventures, they will provide many happy memories in years to come.I invite you to come to the Great Northwest where we sail from Seattle North to our own San Juan Islands the Canadian Gulf Islands to the Sunshine Coast, Princess Louisa and on to Desolation Sound. In the Summer months June through September these are heaven to sail. Enjoy getting to know your new boat and it's sailing characteristics hopefully without any unknowns or scary moments. There are limitations to any cat but knowing what they are will help mitigate those limitations.

Elayna says, we put up x sail, we get 1 shot of the sail up, then its all down again... take your time, lets see it at work, let us get a feel for why you put up in the first place. (yeah im a sucker for the sailing parts, rest is just fine :D) ... still need more cat-sailing... crossing my fingers for 20min+ episodes :D

You got a point here Moffah. Some shots did feel hastened and although I really enjoyed the video, I would LOVE to just see more longer shots of just how things go, flow, sail, dive etc. Perhaps they should consider a flashy video like this and develop a second stream of vids with just more raw longer scenes.

I never saw this episode it's totally awesome to see something great happen to two really good people. To look at where you two are now with a family it's just a tremendous feel-good story. This is way better than any TV show could ever be. I hope to be sailing on the water in the Caribbean next to you one day in my own boat! Stay safe and best wishes.

You two deserve this boat...your adventure sharing and your personalities are so much fun to watch, and I think the obvious enjoyment and comfort you two have with the new cat is very well deserved! :)

Happy b'day Riley! Some great viz in this one! The time lapse shot about mid-way through with the silhouetted sailboats in the foreground and the sun setting behind in the crazy-orange sky...perfection! Glad to you see you truly sailing again, and happy (as a viewer) to get through the transition, as I'm sure you are too. Looking forward to many more fair winds!

This channel has turned into something beautiful. Awe inspiring footage. From the time you appeared as guests on PKA to now I've watched your channel grow, and it's now probably my favourite thing to watch online.

Ive been watching and following you two since the start of your adventure. I almost did the same forty years ago, but the wife did not want to be on a small boat. Anyway, I am so happy for you two, you both deserve every bit of joy you are going through. We love you guys, stay safe, will talk to you again later!

You two are absolutely awesome, the boat is very well deserved. I'm sure that it must feel like a dream, but it's REAL. I can't wait for your adventures of island hopping, diving, spearfishing and open ocean cruising.
