Hello dear subscribers!! This is just a short bonus episode before we start SEASON 2!!! Aladino and I are driving down to Magic Carpet TOMORROW (Sunday), so you can expect new Magic Carpet episodes next week!! YAHOO!!!! Thank you for your patience during the off season videos! I've done my best to make them entertaining and relevant, but of course you're all really here to see Magic Carpet. Well, rest assured -- new Magic Carpet content is coming!! As always, if you appreciate the videos and you'd like behind the scenes access (that includes an exclusive weekly article written by me, opportunities to meet us in person, handwritten letters delivered to you around the world, plus early access to all episodes), then follow us on patreon! It costs as little as $2/month, which may not be a lot to you, but to us that's HUGE. Your support is what's making season 2 possible!! www.patreon.com/user?u=13249792 With love and excitement, Maya

Maya and Aladino, when I was your age my Grandfather sat me down and gave me advise that roughly translates, "do the things you want to do while you're young, life gives no guarantees, and hopefully there will be plenty of time later on to be sedentary and remember". So I believe he would tell you "sail now, settle down and build boats later". He was a very wise man.

Hello dear Lady and Gentleman of the boatyards. Yes, sanding over and over again is a not so much enjoyable work (I can tell). Working with strong smelling resins and colours etc.p.p. is not so much fun either. When I was young I really liked the smell of fresh paint and epoxy resin and so on. But this changed definitely very much with every.year of age. Enjoy yourself, your love, passions and especially your youth because it will never come back. I wish you to have as much great positive adventures as possible so you can "live of" when being old. Best regards luck and health to you both.

Your voice and words are like a warm blanket on a very cold night, your thoughts are meaningful and seem very sincere. I have played and re-played your videos several times. Your story is comforting and enjoyable, to see a young couple in love with each other, with an adventurous spirit, and the can do attitude is heart warming. We seem to have declined in to a society of greed and self satisfaction, with little regard for hard work, good morals and pride in doing right for ourselves as well as for others. Love hearing and watching you play the violin.

So very different. Here, back in the day, anybody who built boats was a boatbuilder. Cedar strip canoes, lapstrake, steel, whatever. Most of the men (all men in those days) could build whatever you needed, boat, wagon, barn, house, and make the metal parts too. No glass in those days but lots and lots of glorious sanding.

it was a very nice episode. Pls let Aladdino talk on more technical aspects. I think many of us are not here to see blue caves and beaches - but to learn more on how to take care of our (future) boat and how to sail.:)

Only you, Aledino, know what a solid trade education means. I had one too and finished with "Meister". Meaning not many in the rest of the world (especially North America) appreciate or acknowledge your acquired skills; meaning you will be one day your own boss because of that and that is a good thing. Love you guys.

I love your channel and it's balance of content. Aladino... thanks for showing me to Vindo and Luffe through your channel. I can see the craftsmanship in both and wonder if you can comment with a list of similar boats to look at when shopping. I love the craftsmanship and the soul of these, and we don't see them in California at all. I'm shopping.
