Wow, what an incredible tour of the Seawind 1370 catamaran in Part 1! This boat is absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to see more in the upcoming parts. The attention to detail is impressive, and I appreciate how you've thoughtfully designed the boat to cater to both comfort and functionality. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm looking forward to the next installment of the tour! Enjoy the journey and continue sharing your love for sailing with us.

The question is not what is on this boat, rather what is not......... that list is sure to be much shorter. Accolades to Nick, Teresa and the boat designers for creating such a dream boat. If you havn't already shared, I would be curious as to a final price tag, delivered. Very much looking forward to your next video, this video WAS VERY WELL DONE! TY for sharing with us Nick and Teresa, so excited for you guys....CONGRATS!

Nice. I suspect you can solve a lot of visibility issues with well positioned tiny external cameras which can then turn every monitor (and TV) into a great portal to your surroundings including sail plan. Also, underwater cameras which could be useful for anchor retrieval if not also anchor setting (such as after driving up to look down and confirm hook after setting then drifting back... saves diving on the anchor I would think). :)

Move the helm to an elevated bulkhead position and I would be all over this model. I do not like looking through the windows and around the roof to see the corners of the boat and the sails. Maybe misinterpreting Nick's comments, but it seems as though he would agree. LOVE LOVE LOVE your utility room.

Very nice! As Terysa was describing the nav station, I couldn't help but think that an extra 2in/5cm height of the desk surface would make a huge difference for her.
@Rodrifuuu11 ай бұрын
Yup, simply raising the desk to the level of the instruments and allowing that extra 20 cms under it to raise the chair further would solve any issue. Hopefully future hulls will allow at least to have that option.

This looks better than the HH44 and larger too. Just a better looking Cat. in fact, it may well be the best cruising cat on the market. Certainly the best in the 45 footer range. The Outremer 52 is the next size up leader imo.

Good tour. I like the Seawind design. My only reservation about that layout is the position of the TV screen - it's liable to get scratched one day by someone going up or down the companionway.

That was a great first look at your new home. I can’t wait to see the next episode to see the rest of it. I live full time in a 42 foot Fifth Wheel RV and we have 5 Furrion cameras around the outside of the RV so we have a 360 view while we’re inside the RV. I wonder if a couple of them would work on the front of your boat’s roof to give you a look at the rest of the sails while you were underway. They are 12 volt cameras and the screen comes in sizes from 4.5, 5 and 7 inch sizes. The screen could be portable so you could move it around depending on which helm station you’re using at the time. A small portable power station could be used to power the monitor so you wouldn’t need to plug it into something every time you moved it around.

It really is the nicest boat you ever reviewed, and the fitout is mint! Loving the safari hatches, the flappy door, it's all just so well thought out. Only thing that isn't so well thought out, ironically, is the thing Nick used to always complain about - liferaft deployment!
@GaryMCurran11 ай бұрын
You know, I've kind of been a little confused about this. If the liferaft sits behind the dinghy, why aren't they using the Dinghy instead of the life raft? You have power, you could have a small chart plotter, a radio, and other items. Technically, I suppose, you could make it so that when you deployed the dinghy, you could automatically deploy the life raft, too. All of this assumes you have time to get the dinghy down and off the boat and then get the life raft out. If the boat were to capsize (rogue wave? Collision?) it might not be possible to get either out.

You can't have a Playstation without a TV! Which brings us to the question... what games are you playing, Nick?
@kirkb347311 ай бұрын
Thanks for the walkthrough and what a great cat! Favorite features are definitely the safari windows and the chute in the galley to dispose of biodegradable waste (such a little but important feature!). Really interested to see how the seals & latches hold up after a year or two and if they'll be leak-free. Downside is when on passage, you won't be able to have them open so there will be no airflow, but at anchor they are amazing. Just a note to SeaWind, they need to update their website to reflect what the true visibility of the boat is looking through the windows, the renderings they show are misleading.

@peterherth737911 ай бұрын
A nice tour of a really great boat! I just would have raised the nav desk a few centimeters, perhaps up to where the wood ends. Also, the TV looks small and in a corner - perhaps you can add a beamer and a roll-out screen one day for movie nights. Either opposite of the sitting area inside or if you want to go completely crazy, install a huge curtain/screen across the door area and watch from the rear bench in the cockpit.
@dc154411 ай бұрын
Seawind should raise the Nav desk to counter height. Then a better chair that goes 4 inches higher adjustable leg rest so shorter people can see better from it and taller ones can lower the seat. Such an easy fix for Seawind.

Great review and super nice sailboat! I never realized how short Theresa is and the problems she has seeing out of windows when "driving". I know that short people sometimes have jumper seats when driving cars so they can see out the front windshield and special pedles and such. Maybe she could get a jumper seat or some sort of high chair when on watch? Not sure, but there must be something that can be used to overcome this (there must be "speciality" stores that sell this sort of stuff). Keep up the great videos guys and love that sailboat!

You’ve waited a long time and now here you are, it must be great to see your designs in action. These boats are very tropics designs, I’m wondering if they make cats that are northern capable? People Debating helm positions, I think the future will be… no helm position outside, I would have preferred to simplify the design by having electric joystick controls for helm and throttle, I know about auto pilot b&g etc but I haven’t seen a handheld version where I could helm from anywhere onboard, I know some people like to helm continuously while on sail but with a cat I don’t really think it’s necessary. Regarding your engines I feel like you made a great choice.
@CuriousHumbleMarie11 ай бұрын
Awesome boat and I’m happy for you both! The only thing that *may* be bothersome is the placement of the TV…doesn’t look like you can see it comfortably while seated at the table or when using the daybed but I may be wrong. Regardless, you have a beautiful home!

Really interesting to see how Seawind have taken their marine architecture forward with this model. The visibility issue can probably be alleviated with some cameras in the right spots, and I'm sure i remember you taking about building cameras into the mast and other points on the boat when you were still at the design stage? Feed those back to your helm screens and you should be good. I also think, having watched the last few videos, that you guys need to bite the bullet and get head sets for mooring and anchoring. Anyway she's stunning and i want one!
