I was surprised too but it turns out to be the very best thing to have done. We have been asked by many cat owners if we pulled the fuel caps off the chain. Perhaps bad design but the fuel pump has notoriously broken the chain while fueling and many a boat owner has watched the fuel cap bounce off the transom steps and into the water......and they don't float!

Our boys have always sailed small boats so this is their first trip aboard a boat like our Leopard Catamaran. That said, we are not in a race to go anywhere and will take it slow. We're not in a rush to go anywhere so we're just happy to be hanging offshore quarantined as long as need be....then we're off and sailing! The Leopard 45 is their No 1 selling model so about a year ago the factory ramped up an entire second production line so lead times are actually down to roughly 12 months....as long as they are able to keep manufacturing during this crazy pandemic. Thank you very much for watching!

Hi guys, great video! One thing I noticed for safety. When you are standing on the coach roof, you shouldn't ever stand between the boom and the helm station roof. Lovely boat... but I am amazed that Leopard KNOW about the fuel tank chains snapping when you insert the nozzle & losing the caps (which I bet are not cheap!) and yet have done NOTHING to sort out that Design fault or fitted any kind of modification. I wouldn't guarantee the cap will stay in the corner either. Perhaps a quick & dirty fix would be a short extension/spacer tube, shaped to allow for the chain & cap to be lifted clear for inserting the pistol nozzle when fueling.

Bob Mullins Hi Bob! Thanks for the comment and suggestions. Not sure why it hasn’t been improved upon but Leopard isn’t the only manufacturer that has this exact same setup. As a brand they actually do a good job making design updates annually because they receive so much feedback from their Moorings Yacht Charter customers. Will have to suggest they implement an improvement to the fuel cap chains! 👍 thanks again and thank you for watching. Really appreciate it 😁

Damn this is a nice boat. Been watching the Lagoon 45F, but this is making me think about Leopard. Did you look at both?
@sailingsvoliluki69384 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas, we've looked at catamarans for roughly 5 years going to boat shows and visiting dealers. We have looked at many brands including Lagoons. I actually had a chance to go out on a Lagoon 45F a few years ago. They are beautiful boats with lots of storage but after sailing the Leopard 45 we decided (obviously) on it. We like the helm position of the L45 because you can stay connected with family / friends at the aft cockpit table. The L45 is also a fantastic sailing boat while still having plenty of storage space and comfort. The one issue we had with Flybridge helms was that the helmsman is disconnected from whatever may be happening down below. Since we have younger boy on board, we needed to know where everyone is at all times. Thank you for joining our sailing adventure. Hope you enjoy the videos and hopefully take away a little useful info too :-). Best, ~Andy

Hi Tom! Thanks for your message and for joining the adventure with us! The Just Cats team does awesome work and they are filled with lots of knowledge......sometimes I too get lost when they walk us through all the systems on our boat. Over time, we've come to truly understand it and learn how to manage power on board our catamaran. We will be doing a video, probably a few where we go through the entire boat and all the options we selected, why and what they do. Should be coming soon! Thanks again for joining the journey....hope you continue to enjoy the videos :-). All the best and stay safe! Andy

Is that a cool $1million
@sailingsvoliluki69384 жыл бұрын
Dude, Where's my passport: no but they’re not cheap. That said once you get into boating especially in the Fort Lauderdale area, a mil is probably what some of these mega yachts spend on their anchor! Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy the videos.

Spanish flag in your cap

The cap is from a company called OneUp a throwable self inflating PFD. That said one of my absolute favorite places to visit is Spain and we plan to sail OliLuki there! All the best and stay safe! ~Andy

Music is bit annoying at beginning
@sailingsvoliluki69384 жыл бұрын
Hi John, thank you for your comment and yes after releasing the video we realized the music was at least from a volume level a bit high. It didn't sound like it through headphones while editing. We are working hard to make improvements with each video. Thank you again for your comment and for watching. Stay safe! ~Andy

It is amazing how Leopard uses such garbage for most of there building material.
@sailingsvoliluki69384 жыл бұрын
Actually the Leopard Catamarans are incredibly solid and well built. Maybe on the OEM side they could chose other brands products however just like all big brand cats price point is always a concern both for Leopard and the customers. It's very easy to partner with other high quality brands for everything but the cost of the boat would rise significantly. That said, we have sailed many different brands of cats, several of which truly use garbage materials in the making of the vessel which will not hold up. Leopard cats are first and foremost built to take a beating in the charter market under the Moorings so those that come out under the Leopard brand have been relentlessly tested both in hull build and finish materials which are some of the reasons we selected our 2020 Leopard 45. Thanks for joining our adventure....hope you enjoy the videos! Stay safe! Andy

Is it that important to get the boat on this day? You were around 20 people and in very close proximity. I understand the dealer wants his $$$$$ ASAP. But we all need to stay home and away from people. Covid 19 is everywhere.

Hysteria and panic get the planet nowhere.
@sailingsvoliluki69384 жыл бұрын
Lyle L: Hi Lyle, we totally agree with your concern and comment and have taken serious precautions that you didn’t see on the video as has the staff at Leopard Catamarans. That said we can’t be too safe in today’s world so we’ve even ratcheted up safety precautions since we took delivery of the boat. Thanks again for the comment and for watching. Stay safe and all the best. 👍
