I don’t usually send ‘fan mail’ but Eric’s videos are top notch. Our first experience with Sailrite was a sail kit. It came quickly and had everything needed to complete the job, including clear instructions. Next came rectangular trailer cushions. This afternoon, I made an odd shaped corner cushion for our trailer. I’m so grateful for your clear instructions. You make me look like I know what I’m doing! Thank you!

Thank you for making these videos. While at South Shores ramp in San Diego, I ran into a guy who had the coolest canvas covered accessories on his boat. Absolutely everything had a cozy or some kind of a cover done with blue marine canvas. That boat looked so sharp I commented to the owner. He told me that he never knew how to sew until he ran into the Sail Rite videos and he had done all of the canvas on the boat by himself. Thank you very much. Here I am to get started.

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I have slightly irregular dining room chairs that I'm making pads for and this will help a lot. Thanks for being so clear and simple and efficient. I appreciate you.

So glad you liked the video. I made 5 prototypes, each had issues, until I finally found the correct cushion building techniques for this type of cushion. Wow, I was even impressed with the results and the ease in making it. Sometimes I love my job!

Thank you for this video! How would you finish the raw edge of the zipper if you used material on the back?
@SailriteDIY Жыл бұрын
I would cut a back plate of fabric larger than finished size by about 2 inches around all sides. Then I would cut the back plate fabric in half and baste a zipper on the cut edge, then apply more basting tape and fold the fabric so the fold is over the zippers center. Then sew that zipper in place. Then do the same for the opposite side. Now cut the oversized back plate to the correct size and sew as we do in this video. Now you have a zipper with a hemmed edge of decorative fabric on the bottom side.

@@SailriteDIY agreed as to mirror covers. As a matter of fact, anything for a class a such as wiper covers and a windshield cover would be great.
