Thanks so much! I hunted all over online,(including KZbin), to find the best tutorial for this and I picked yours because I was all around the best one for me. I’ve got my fabric all cut out and now I’m just waiting for my zippers to arrive so I can finish up. I’m so excited to be making my own. After this I’m never going to blow lots of money for expensive & boring looking cushions. It’s great to be able to customize! I am making a Barbie-core patio so my cushions are bright and fun. Thank you SO much for this easy to follow tutorial!

Thanks so much, I looked all over and couldn't find a video that shows how to box corners and insert the zipper which I like.

Your cushions look great! I'm really nervous about cutting the corners. You folded the fabric so quickly that I couldn't see how you did it, therefore I'm still at a loss. If you could possibly show that I think it would most definitely help all of us. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

I often change the playback speed to slow down the video. Go to the settings wheel on the menu at the bottom of the actual video screen. Select Playback Speed and choose the .75 or .5 speed.

Great looking cushions, but you said as a beginner it would be easy I'm a decent sewer but the video was to fast and not enough detail or close ups. Would you consider doing a more detailed one🤞

Could you please make another video about doing this. Specifically to explain the corner cut-outs in more detail and how to calculate their measurements according to how thick the cushion is. Thanks 👍

I found this really helpful, thank you! I've never seen this way of calculating measurements so as to use a continuous piece of fabric - love it. I've also never come across that method of doing box corners, which I thought was brilliant. If you ever had time to film a close-up of how to do the corners that would be amazing, although I imagine that once I try it on some scraps of fabric it'll become evident exactly how it works. Awesome video, thanks again! 🙂👍🏾🌟

This would have been great, but really all I got out of it was how to measure. Beyond that, the few close-ups there were were blurry and you went too fast. Even though I have done a lot of sewing, I didn't get what you were doing.

great video. When you cut the corners from the folded side, do you cut the 2 inches from the folded edge or from the non folded fabric edge? Played at slow speed and still couldn't tell what you were saying because I just heard "edge"

my cushions are 7" by 25 by 25 so not something I can buy online, event he 5" ones are so expensive. now to find fabric at a good price that isnt totally going to fade. Thinking if I did white that solve that fading problem

How do I sew in a zipper in an out door box cushion with a seam in the middle of the back?
@scotthamilton384 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the help! However, when you said to "do the same to all four corners," my fabric was folded in half. Thus, I ended up cutting incorrectly on the side opposite where the zipper was going to go. I used some fuse-able lining to piece it back together, but would have appreciated the instruction to UNFOLD THE FABRIC and *THEN* cut each of the four corners 2" x 2" to make the corners. This was totally on me, but if you add that info, it might save someone else from making the same mistake. Thank you!
@gabriellaocarlsson2498 Жыл бұрын
yes i did the same because it looked like her fabric was folded when she cut...

Hi, I have a question for you. You said in your tutorial that you always box out 2 inches on the cushions so if you have a cushion that is 4 inches thick why would you always cut out 2 inches for the box?
@Sengerson3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I cut 2 inches + 1/2 inch seam allowance because you fold the fabric over. Once it folds over, it meets the other 2 inch piece that you see together to form the box cushion!

There is no way a beginner would understand the super fast instructions. You need to slow down. Don't just do the step but demonstrate all aspects of the step. For example, beginners probably never put in a zipper. Tell them how slowly and show them by zooming in so they can see what is happening.
@MichaelLives172 жыл бұрын
I’m basically going in blind still. It’s either fast tutorials with no close up’s, or lots of close ups & 45 minute story-telling of who taught them to sew. If I mess up, I mess up oh well I can’t sit through any more of these. Lol

This is definitely NOT for beginner sewers. She leaves out so much and could have done a much better job of SHOWING what she was doing while sewing instead of having the camera move fast and all herky jerky. I am not new to sewing and even I found this hard to follow. I am moving on to a better done tutorial for this type of project. She started off great then it all fell apart when she got to the most important part, the sewing and construction.

Hi Tracy, I'm sorry that you had to buy additional fabric. I've made this a couple of times with my own measurements I shared and never came up short. Maybe you are sewing the seams too big? I'm not sure - YMMV.
