One of my favorites as well. I think my early introduction to Vitus was seeing Down play Ice Monkey on an old bootleg VHS I had.

Saint Vitus was my first doom band (besides the Black Sabbath songs that everybody knew). I bought their 2019 self-titled along with a variety of metal cds in a “Slackers” cd store. I remember when I got home and listened to the Saint Vitus cd that I absolutely loved every moment of its fuzzy chaos. I’ve been a big doom fan ever since. My favorite song from the album is “12 Years in the Tomb”.

Very cool lesson Steve!!! Can’t really answer the question about my favorite St. Vitus song, I only very recently got into them, like within the last 6 months or so. I have one of their albums in my playlist on my phone, but I have to admit, I don’t know their tunes that well yet. I will make it a point to get more familiar with them though, if all of their stuff sounds as cool as your lesson!!! Thanks for all the work you do brother!!! 🤘🤘🤘

@DoesItDoom4 жыл бұрын
I still listen to and play a lot of blues. Doom brought me to that genre, and I love them both. I guess at the time I felt like the world could use a doom metal focused guitar lesson channel since nothing much existed in terms of lesson or demos related to the genre at the time. A lot of people have asked me to do some blues lessons again, and it's something I'm definitely considering.

While I do very much enjoy Vitus for their slow stuff I've never seen much appreciation for their clearly punk influenced mid-tempo and fast songs like Hallows Victim, Bloodshed, Just Another Notch or hell their self-titled song. Imo all of them teeter just on the brink of being Sludge , mostly "held back" by Reagers clean vocals.
