part 1 is a slow start for sure, mostly due to it's age. However I don't think it's hot garbage, sure it's a bit boring but for me the music and literature references made it up. Part 2 however, is fantastic. It's when JoJo really becomes the JoJo we know today. So if you just bear with the 9 episodes part 1 has to offer you're good to go(not that part 1 is pure dogshit it did have a couple of good fights imo).
