Yeah this has got to be Haener’s last interview. The moment is just too big for him and he has had nearly two years to get used to the stage of the NFL and he can’t even get his feet under him where he at least has a “sweet spot” in the pocket or what he typically gravitates towards. He is completely lost. That all being said, we need to draft a QB in 2026. Next year just needs to be a reset season to get the cap right all at once.

He wasn't accustomed to the star light. He was shook with the pressure of starting the game. He folded. Rattler had the same pressure. He did not practice as much with the staring O-Line like Haener. Rattler came in with same risks/pressure as Haener, to make something happen and he did. He took charge and put us on board. He risked it all and USED his tools, haener RELIED on the tools. Not the same. Rattler barely has a year in the NFL, Haener has 2 years. All in all, wether you like Jake or Spence, only way to get good on an NFL caliber level, is if you play in the NFL and not observe from the sidelines.

This team needs a complete rebuild. Watching them repeatedly be .500 or less or not even being competitive is tough. It just sucks. The franchise QB is not in the building. The coaching staff is not in the building. The team is in salary cap hell with old players and something has to give. So what that there were injuries. It happens. It’s football. Since we are not competitive this year and with nothing to play for, just let Jake start and Rattler develop behind the scenes. Would like to see Rattler when everyone is healthy.

Derek Carr can have a bad half and not get pulled because he is an established player. The coaches know that he is capable of playing better in the next half. A second year player is too much of an unknown. It was a real game and you can’t afford to wait and see if Haener would get better as the game went on. The NFL window to prove yourself is small and Rattler understood that and took advantage.

You can't blame this on the OL because Rattler was actually good with the same OL. He definitely has something if you can develop it. Do I know if that will happen? I don't know. We have to win out even for a chance to retain Rizzi and Kubiak, even though I wouldn't mind experiencing one full year of both. It's not up to me, and if they lose, it just forces Mickey's hand to say, "Get rid of it all." Haener did terrible but in his defense, it's his first start where he was passed up for a rookie when Carr was out. That's gotta play with your mind a little. Rattler came in with 3 games of experience with zero pressure to perform and played looser. Also teams game planned for Haener and not Rattler. The Saints shot themselves in the foot by not allowing Haener to see if he could've madd a second half adjustment. We all know they weren't playing to win.

Haener did not come off as any type of way and honestly he should have been allowed to plate the whole game. Rattler is garbage haener is usually a better quarterback then this. He had a off half the o-line didn’t help him. All he had to do was calm his nerves and he would have played a lot better in the 2nd half. And saying that he has nothing to offer is crazy Spencer rattler is trash and he is not a better qb then haener in all actuality. Rattler made some really bad throws that should have been picked off and he got lucky our receivers made incredible catches to bail him out. Let’s be honest rattler didn’t have some magical game his completion percentage was terrible. He made horrible throws that our receivers had to make spectacular catches. He almost got MVS sent to the hospital. So saying rattler balled out is diabolical because the only ones who balled out in this game was our defensive line with 8 sacks.
