The new coach of the Saints needs to be someone with extreme patience who understands and accepts that they're walking into a very limited situation with what should be a fairly extensive rebuild...this team isn't going to have a whole lot of pieces to build around once the demolition begins! They can't get good return on anyone they could trade (except Kamara, maybe Olave, Alonte Taylor or some of the other young secondary pieces) and Loomis (if he stays) would have to hit a royal flush in the draft/free agency just to get a complete starting lineup. Filling the depth of this team is even more daunting because as this season has clearly demonstrated, if a 1 goes down, the 2s are meh, and the rest are barely mediocre. I think Belichick would've been a good hire due to his ability to win with basically no-name, bargain basement players but, since he's off the market, I'm not sure where they go next!! Hopefully, the Steelers lose their minds and fire Tomlin or McVay gets bored with LA and needs a new project...then again, I've probably got a better chance of winning that MegaMillions jackpot!!

Hard to say if Rizzi should retain with Kubiak or to have a Ben Johnson come in and revamp.
@matthenagan818919 күн бұрын
I'd be okay with Rizzi coming back. We've been in every game since he has been interim head coach. I think he's done pretty well given the overall situation. He seems like a pretty good motivator and ra ra kind of guy. The only question is can he keep and maintain that energy that he's putting out? I think he can.
@tracys235418 күн бұрын
No on Rizzi and no clue how to evaluate Kubiak. First 2 games were unstoppable then the wheels came off. I don't think Ben Johnson will come to NO.
@japanesehercules12 күн бұрын
Ben Johnson is not coming here. He’s going to either the Bears or the Giants
@ReDRuMx9619 күн бұрын
It’s almost the same kind of situation when Sean Payton decided to take over. Saints needs all help on the entire roster. They seriously need a rebuild. From QB, OLine, WRs, a dynamic TE, DLine, LBs, and a better secondary that can tackle. That’s basically the whole roster. The only thing they don’t need to be change is much is RBs

Saints have a top 10 graded QB who's squarely in his prime. That's a fact. Too many fans take that for granted.

Don’t forget Loomis wanted Deshaun AFTER the allegations too, the browns just one-upped us in dysfunction thank god. The man has yet to prove he can build a team post-Brees. And he’s still mad about firing Dennis Allen which is mind-boggling.

Our only issue I see is our cap. Most coaches looking to become HC want cap to be able to sign players. We do not have that unfortunately 😢
@Cjac102719 күн бұрын
Yes we can. They will create more than enough cap space for whoever our new HC wants to sign. It’s not about IF the saints can do it. It’s WILL they.

I get it, the Saints may not be anyone's dream job but being a head coach in the NFL isn't? Beggars can't be choosers. Real talk, when Sean Payton came to New Orleans, this wasn't his job of choice but you see what kind of legacy he left behind. Whoever ends up being the coach, make this job your dream job and make your own legacy. There are not going to be any job openings for good teams, a new coach won't be able to walk in and take over for the KC Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles, these are all good teams. Fact of the matter is, just like with any job, put down your best foot forward and work your way up and put the Saints on the map again and make it a place where players want to play and want to be and not just because of the local New Orleans cuisine.

Cons: Cap hell, old roster, questionable OL and DL, low potential for both safety positions, need game changing TEs, need big possession receiver, need a QB that stays healthy, lack of depth everywhere. Pros: potential young corners and LB, solid kicker, supporting team owner, good facilities. Kubiak's offense was unstoppable against 2 bad teams and then the wheels came off. So is it all the injuries, bad offensive game plans, bad play calling or all of the above. Granted a new head coach will bring in his own OC.

Cap means nothing to Mickey. Injuries aren’t on him, terrible coaching is but he’s giving chances. He’ll find the next winner just like he found Sean. Don’t forget the good he has done over a few bad years in the last 20.
@lewistangi800419 күн бұрын
If the Saints want to soar, they have to address the Loomis situation. He actively sabotages this team because things didn't go well with Dennis Allen. To heck with this guy, we cannot function with a GM doing all the wrong things, every day.

He doesn’t care about NFL football. He’s all about LSU and college football and that’s fine. He needs to leave the NFL alone because he doesn’t care enough to even pay attention to it.
