I get this engine from Ebay and was greatly surprised when open the postal box - engine looks very dirty and untidy. I was upset seriously by such discovery, but immediately start to clean it in kerosene bath with heavy brushing. Thanks God, it was very dirty but from exterior, internally, especially after cleaning, it looks flawless. It's good that firstly I started to wash the engine, and did not start to sort things out with the seller.
Anyhow, right now you can watch, how this beautiful engine performs on the stand, how its idling and please, hear this great sound of Saito FA 270T !
Hoping you will enjoy this video,
Thank you for watching CrazyEngines !

I have the same engine in the box, it looks like new but has some runtime, I also have the Saito FA 300T Golden Knight and that is also a nice item in my collection. I love the Japanese brands like OS Engines, Saito and YS very much because it has pure quality and that for many years. Every engine is an investment but with an expert use and maintenance you will enjoy it for many years.

Great video! Thanks a lot for sharing. Which fuel do you use normally for your fourstrokes? Castor or synthetic? Since I'm starting to fly fourstrokes during the next days, it would be very interesting for me to get a hint from a professional.

Thank you for your comment and for your question. I'm not a professional, that's true, but I've learned a lot from RC 4 strokers being it's fan. A few dozens of engines, which I was repaired, shows very similar problems, rusty bearings (it means, that it wasn't washed \ cleaned \lubricated after run), piston rings "staked" into the piston groove (mostly, castor oil residue (!), thin yellowish layer on piston surface, and of course, different flaws in carb. Usually, castor oil works great for rubbing surfaces, but if you leave few drops of it inside the engine - you will stack into the problems later. According to me - I'll run only very old engines with castor oil. I've a plan to test runs of an old Saito FA 30 (earliest versions, open rocker), and nevertheless, will use 100% synth oil from Klotz Techniplate or Motul Micro 2T. So, I'm not a castor oil fan, rather the opposite. Still thinking, how to expose this topic in my next videos. B.T.W., thank you for a good idea ! Regarding the fuel - 3 typical recipes: 1. UK made Model Technics Big Bag 16%, adding around +10% Klotz TechniPlate or Motul Micro 2 T oil (basic mix for racing cars, oil content just 10%) 2. Byron Aero 10% Nitro ( or similar). 3.Own mix, as usual, 10-15% Nitromethane, 15-20% of Klotz Techniplate and rest - balanced Methanol. All of it performs similar. Some of commercial fuels produced colorization inside of an engine - I very much dislike that, especially green or red color. My personal opinion (not a reccomendation), that if you have an ability to purchase all fuel components - could be better to mix fuel by yourself. Not sure, how fuel could stay for monthes \ years at storage without degradation of components. Later (in month) I'll show my way of fuel mixing.

Yes, that's it ! I'm quite a big fan of 4 stroke sound, especially at low idle. The reason, why I was deliberately refused from testing \ working with 2 stroke engines is simple - it is so huge quantities of such engines were produced in the last 80 years, so it's impossible to review just a smallest part of them. Even 1 % from that will be a huge amount. I do not mentioned unknown yet engines from China and rest of the world. This is a whole, endless universe...
