What inspired me to start losing weight was when my cousin said I looked like a chubby post malone. Didn't know who he was at the time, looked him up and my eyes went wide. From 225 to 165 in 9 months and kept it off. Take it step by step, it's a process for all of those on the grind.

For everyone that needs help getting started losing weight During the summer months just keep a pitcher of iced water with mint and lemon/lime out. Keep yourself from making bad choices by setting out good alternatives early on. Cut up some watermelon and fruit and cheese and nits if you're around the house all day anyway and just graze on that stuff. Stop getting so emotionally invested in having a 'meal' . And most importantly don't treat yourself like shit if you slip up. The guilt will only make it worse.

Another thing for people that would come back to this: Fuck sodas and anything sugary/with sugar that comes in liquid form. Second is sports drinks (gatorade/powerade/similar stuff). If you're not near actual dying of thirst from a high intensity activity; you have no business drinking it.

The thing that got me to lose weight was cutting down on the carbs (not 100% but a lot less) and no sugar on my coffee as well. I don't work out or anything but I've kept a stable weight I'm comfortable with for like, almost 10 years at this point. Just being careful with carbs and sugar from time to time, and doing errands on foot whenever possible. So yeah, this is legit, a good rule of thumb.

As another wrestler who got chubby and stayed fat after they stopped the sport it truly is a blessing that i had that background. it gave me the mental fortitude to stick to my dietary changes when i finally had enough with my weight problem. Most people dont take into consideration how much they really want something. you can be fat and not like it, but to actually do something abt it is an entirely different beast that takes true discipline

Just cutting out soda does wonders for people, and not just switching to diet sodas (since they still leave you craving sweet drinks). It's absurd the amount of sugar that's in a 20oz bottle of Coke, and it's absurd how, as an American, you can grow up to see that 20oz bottle as being "small" for how much soda it is. I worked in a gas station and got free fountain drinks most of the time I worked there, but then I learned I had to get over a dozen fillings in my teeth and I traded soda for iced tea, and eventually got rid of that for black coffee and seltzer. It's a bit rough to adjust to not having sweet drinks, but after a while if you try to drink soda it just tastes like syrup. Every so often, I'll get some Dr Pepper or anything else that I used to drink constantly and it just reminds me how bad soda actually tastes when it's not your norm. And other drinks end up being cheaper as well. Sure, soda can be cheapish, but where I'm at, it's still more expensive than seltzer because of demand being higher for soda.

"Calories out>calories in= lose weight" Not necessarily, my Calorie intake and activity stayed the same and I lost about 10kgs over time. I was burning enough calories to be shredding weight once I looked at the numbers but then I tracked what I was eating based on other things like, fat, carbs, protein and sugar and my sugar intake was way higher than I thought. I didn't even drink soda's regularly, even when I thought I ate well eating raisin bran for breakfast my sugar intake to lose weight was through the damn roof.

Yeah I got heavy after high school because my PE equivalent credits throughout high school was "weight training". Just lifting weights for like 2 hours a day 5 days a week. I only really did preacher curls, lateral pull downs, and bench. I never did a single deadlift or squat. My legs were always thrashed from skateboarding after school everyday. but yeah if you don't dramatically reduce your diet after dropping lifting weights you'll get fat as fuck quick.
@VeylmanTheRock3 жыл бұрын
I did the same thing when I was 220 pounds in 2013, never really worked out so I started on that a few weeks at a time. Then in 2017 I did a water fast (only drink water and don't eat) twice for like a week and at that point soda and stuff tasted really shitty so it was easy cutting that stuff out. Now I'm always around 155-175 pounds.

For me, the king of weight loss is intermittent fasting. No contest. For intermittent fasting, all you gotta do is put at least 16 hours between your last meal of the day and the first meal of the next day. The way people usually go about this is by declaring a 5-8 hour daily eating "window". This way, if you only eat inside your window you're automatically fasting for 16+ hours every day. This. Is. EASY. That's the main thing that makes intermittent fasting the king of weight loss to me. You dont have to do anything to your diet, you dont have to eat less than you normally do (though you probably naturally will just by eliminating snacking), and it takes about 3 days for your body to adjust. When your body adjusts, you actually feel *more* full and satisfied from less food than when you eat willy nilly throughout the day. I feel all around better when I do intermittent fasting and if you're significantly overweight, the pounds just melt off at like 5lbs+ a month with no effort. The trickiest thing about it is just avoiding snacking on autopilot when you're getting used to it at first.

@benzhang89275 жыл бұрын
If sweets are something of a problem for you, don't cut it out completely. Eat fruits or other naturally sweet things in moderation. This way you get your fix, but don't go completely off the rails. Also it helps if you have to work for it. What I mean is like peeling an orange or washing a handful of berries. Stay away from readily available sweets as it you can easily find yourself eating more than you would have liked. Stay consistent and just remember its a journey and not a sprint. Good luck friend.

@Sajam How much water do you typically drink in a day? I know, for people just starting to diet, water weight is easy to lose, as those ppl are probably not drinking enough water in their day. I usually try to drink 2 liters at least when losing weight, and I usually drop 5 pounds in a week just from excess water stores.
@tase76025 жыл бұрын
Water weight has more to do with carb intake than water intake, if you drink a lot of water but have no carbs you'll piss it out just as easily as you drank it
@steamyrobotlove5 жыл бұрын
@@tase7602 Huh, I remember my first experience with the slow-carb, aka 4-hour body diet and losing lots of weight each week but also feeling more energetic and refreshed. I feel like water consumption played a part in that, as I wasn't drinking nearly enough water at the time, and after about a week I stopped peeing once an hour. I did eat lots of junk food once a week, perhaps that was my carb intake. Or perhaps the body uses water more efficiently with a good diet rather than storing it/just pissing it out.
