As a liverpool fan from france 🇫🇷 its shame to nobody talk about klopp injuries the last two saison diaz , van dijk , gomez , konate , bradley , trent . And klopp fighting with injuries and finish in the top 4 at the end its no excuse for arsenal or man city liverpool face this situation and nobody talk about that .

Very true. Arsenal were very lucky last year that they did not have injuries. Now people are saying if Slot wins the league before Arteta than Arteta should be fire. They forget that Liverpool is still the same Klop liverpool minus the injuries from the last two seasons.

Goldbridge says it towards the beginning of the video... Klopp built massive depth within Liverpool that Arsenal simply doesn't have. Without Saka (or Sterling... but no one talks about that), we don't have a left-footed right winger. Not saying it's not Arteta's fault for not recognizing this possibility earlier, but you simply can't say there's "no excuse." At the end of the day, top 4 is not winning the league, which is Arsenal's objective.

yup the league is so competitive now even the "mid-table" teams regularly take results from the big clubs you might be able to finesse results for a handful of games but if saka is due to miss a month or so and arsenal dont bring in a replacement in January they're going to struggle let's see what they do, alternatively this could be the moment a player like Martinelli needs to step up, doubt it but you never know lol

On the number of games in relation to injuries there is a very simple solution really. Just have players minutes be regulated by an external board. Everyone will be forced to rotate. You might say it might benefit bigger clubs who can afford quality bench. Well you can also regulate how much players are allowed to be sold on a percentage of their salaries. It's self regulating really. There are a couple of things that can be changed to make it more efficient..

Sakas injury was due to malpractice on arsenals part. Crossing the ball the way he did RARELY ever sees a high grade 2 injury. Unless you already have a grade 1 tear. Which he suffered back in oct for England. 2 weeks after the injury he plays 85 minutes against Liverpool. Then Plays against Preston (god knows why), Newcastle, inter, and Chelsea in just 14 days after suffering a hamstring injury. Hes also come off twice since then holding his hamstring. Last season as well he had hamstring issues that kept him out vs man city ect. So he has clearly been dealing with a hamstring issue and yet he continues to play week in week out. Which is why he ultimately severely injured himself from something as measly as crossing the ball. Its not just the amount of games on the fixture list but these managers aren't giving their players a rest. KDB tore his hamstring in the ucl final because of this. Played on a grade 1 tear for weeks until it finally gave out.

Usually agree with you for the most part but Arsenal SHOULD be favourites for the title after city have collapsed. No one had Liverpool even close to competing for the title before the season started. It was City and Arsenal. Arsenal have underperformed massively and it sounds like you’re making excuses for them. Every single team has the same issues they’ve got and it’s down to the manager to deal with the adversity and continue to get the points on the board. The fact they’re not clear of any other team in the league is a joke considering they were the favourites alongside city and are what 5 seasons and hundreds of millions into Arteta’s ‘project’.

I don't think it matters that much with Saka out for a few months... what's important is the team (the engine) firing on all cylinders and for me, that's beginning to happen. It's a slow start this year with many problems but, I think a good showing this Christmas will set them up for the rest of the new year. It's not how you start, it's how you finish and further, I don't think City are done yet. Just a quick point (note), you have to look at the context of Arsenal's performance this year... injuries of key players and the two red cards have made a massive difference for motivation and further, momentum. With all that said, it's great to see a club other than City on top and I wish Liverpool good luck however, whatever you do, don't right off Arsenal because I believe they're just getting started. Should be an interesting new year.

what squad depth does Liverpool have ? we’re just like arsenal saka is like salah both are massively important attacking wise and if they got injured both clubs don’t have a good, fit and ready RW replacement for them. both clubs wont be the same defensively if they lost one player of their defense pairing (vvd & konate) (saliba & gabriel), since konate’s injury we started to concede more than before just like yesterday. and for LB robertson isn’t at the same level as before (costed us goals, penalties and got sent off once) and his replacement tsimikas isn’t good enough either so overall we’re absolutely not in a better position than them

With how tight it is at the top, I can’t call it. If the Saka injury forces Arsenal into the market for another forward, and they prioritize a target man, their current crop of players could be enough to keep the wheels on the cart. If they buy another CAM/CF/False 9, they’ll probably flounder in the European spots.

The issue isn't there is too much football. Instead it's that managers consistently overplay their best players and burn them out. They need to rotate their squads more and rest their star players more often. The best managed teams have great backup players who can slot into the teams system with a minimal dropoff. Teams with weaker squads need to focus on training up & integrating their backup players instead of overplaying their best players and hoping they don't fall apart. Because when their best players inevitably break the fall off when the inexperienced backups take over derails the season.
@dm8994
@dm8994 2 күн бұрын
The cool thing about too much football is that it allows players to debut in competitive matches that otherwise they wouldn't. It keeps "bench" players active. But maybe the EFL can go and just focus on CL , prem, and FA.

Of course you can't replace Saka but Arsenal can play Martinelli, Jesus, or Sterling on the right. So it's not like going from Saliba to Holding. Those three will have to step up if they want to still be in the race when Saka returns in February and both Martinelli and Jesus are just now coming into form after long dry spells so it could be worse. The injury to Odegaard was more harmful because there was no direct replacement for him.

I fear Saka could be following the footsteps of Michael Owen. Break into first team as a teenager, show world class talent and then get run into the ground by a a manager because you are vital to the team's success. A recent example of this is Rashford. He had the same potential as Saka back in 2019 I'd say. Ole ran him into the ground playing him through back, ankle and shoulder injuries. Ofc other factors like his mindset led to his downfall but his physical decline speaks volumes.
