OMG Isaac... You ARE human after all!!! (Piercing cuts on front roller)... That's the sort of 'oopsie' that us mere mortals make... Always a PLEASURE to watch your work sir!

Hitting a moving target with the torch. And it was cleaner and straighter than I could do following a straight edge. Nice job. cheers, Butch.

Every time I watch your videos, you remind me of a good friend in high school. His name is Isaac chavez. This was back in the 80's though. Nice job on the cutting too.

I’m sure you know a guy that has a wire feeder, wrap the drum several times with some old stripped welding cable, put the machine into gear and pull the trigger. If your power plant can handle the continuous duty, push some 1.6 wire into it. It’s boring but I’d say it is quicker and easier than reskinning the drum.

Remember to weld all the way around the barrel once you're done the strengthen that edge to keep it from splitting.

It's been breaking rocks. Why not run the drum to mark your line?

You can support the barrel and take the two brackets on either side off then you can cut from inside out

I know its just physics but your crane self centering looks like a super power special feature when it automatically rolls to the right spot as you put weight on it. Thats a great way to cut pipe, I wonder if you could fab up a couple of small roller sets and a motor or even a winding handle and a tool rest for the torch...I know there is a small version but a big one could be super useful. Is the Drum just plain mild steel, your welds look like it is, but if not you could make some wicked tools with the offcuts which brings me to my next thought. I wonder if you could put some beads of weld all the way around the inside of the thin spots, it might bolster the integrity of the drum a bit and extend the life of the of it without compromising the flatness of the outside. communication is good..speaking of which ..Thanks for sharing

I respect your effort, good job. I have a question Mr.Isaac , I am following you from northern Iraq, Kurdistan Region. I am Kurdish. I have a question. I have money to work as a mobile welder and line boring like you also the best thing is there is no one doing line boring in my area but there is only one guy doing welding jobs on excavators , but I am afraid of losing my money, knowing that there are a lot of contracting jobs in my area (streets). I was a welder in the past, I have experience, so I want your advice. My regards to you❤

Could you of strengthen the edges by welding strips of what you cut off on the inside edge of the drum.

I might have spun the drums and carved a groove with the grinder to make it easier to cut or just finished with the angle grinder .

I've used scrap gas pipe on a similar sized unit. It lasted years until the wear ate it. The only hassle i had was the fact that the gas pipe i found was the spiral wound type, so i had to spend a bit of time to flatten those welds. Also, pretty early on, the ... how should i put it, the start of the spiral split at the edge of the drum. So i had to put a small patch over it, on all four spiral starts/ends. Other than that, for a similar sized unit, with pipe that's 5 mm thick, aok.

I like your thinking of wrapping the drums Isaac, which brings along a question, would wrapping be somewhat easier than having to replace the pipe/roller skin?

Should just have set up a stand in front of the machine on the off side that you could lean against to get a straight cut vs trying to steady yourself on the machine itself...

Looks Like They Ran It Over 4, 6, 8 to 12 inch Rocks. Not it's intendent use. ( CLUE ) Just by the marks on the the drums. 🤔🤔👉👉👉👉👉👉Customer should really find a BIGGER roller for those jobs. 🤔🤔👉👉And if the customer doesn't want to do that I would cut 1/2 inch behind the drive supports and then weld ether 1/2 inch round stock, rebar or a 2 inch wide 1/2 gauge ring plate inside.

Another typical auction special rattle can 'rebuilt', looks-good-in-the-picures(from 20 feet away) used (& abused) machine! Be careful what you but on the auction sites....they love putting liostick on the ol brat up 'pigs' before sending through the auction for some unsuspecting bidder to quickly buy sight unseen thinking they're getting a great deal that everybody just missed or didn't need it at the moment! Man those drums got beat up pretty hard to get all bent up like that....but it looks good from the side profile.....with that nice paint job(with overspray all over the place!😅 Nice job fixing her up man! 👍🏻🛠️🔧🔩👨🏻🏭
