After all, viewers want to be entertained and a business has to be kept up. If you are a business person, you have no other choice but to act professional and keep your reputation intact (at least, on the surface). I think, the reason why fishman chose the polite version could be to release pressure without putting him or his company in trouble. So, telling a part of the bitter truth is the better option instead of trying to cover everything up.

So him complaining like that is just real Eimi for example can put on the perfect Hamster voice but switches it up all the time instead of remaining committed to the character like Risu for example is or how Snuffy did the Snuffy voice for a year when you hire a talent and they turn out completely different than from what you hired them on... it's challenging to than keep working with them regardless, him hiring Dizzy despite not really seeing her as part of his vision anyway and giving her all these oppurtunities is also extremely based of him. Even if he couldn't see the appeal in her he gave her a chance anyway and she used it in my opinion

I feel like people wildly overthink the whole "fake voice" thing. It's usually pretty obvious when someone's very deliberately doing a consistent "character voice" (I.E. Risu) versus someone who's just particularly animated when they talk (Someone like Eimi or Marine). I really doubt he felt "catfished" by anyone, since it IS pretty normal for someone new to streaming to start out much more awkward and conservative than they are once they're comfortable. It's just more noticeable for Vtubers specifically because they have the option of leaning into their background/lore/character/whatever as a sort of "training wheels", which makes the difference much more stark when they get comfortable and stop relying on it as much.

I used to be kinda on and off about Dizzy's voice (but it was more about the accent for me cause she sounds a bit valley girl-ish and has a nasal quality to her voice), but over time it grew on me. I think I endured it in the beginning mainly because the voice fit her on-screen persona, but later I just began to like it. It's cute - and this gonna probably sound bad, but I mean it in the most positive interpretation - in the way a pug is cute.

I disagree with Fishman. We need more mature models and voices. They are in demand, just look at Matara, Kronii, Snuffy etc. I never found Dizzys voice annoying, in contrast, it's more easy to listen too than some of the very high pitched voices for me.
