One is at festivals and the other one is from restaurants. In these two types, you'll get a punchy tasty Pongal. So, what's the secret? Especially Pongal from temples will have a tempting flavour and taste. So, I’ll show you how to make Sakkarai Pongal in temple style. And I’ll show you the techniques for making this punchy sweet Pongal.

Here are the ingredients for this temple style Chakkarai Pongal in Tamil
Raw rice - 125 gms
Moongdal - 50 gms
Channa dal - 1 tbs
Jaggery - 300 gms
Ghee - 100 ml
Cashew-nut - 6 to 8 nos
Sultana - 10 to 12 nos
Cardamom - 1 tsp
Coconut - 2 tbs
salt to taste as an option
