Huge Sako fan here, the S20 released to some issues when reviewed overseas but I'd be interested in how it works out. There is a Sako factory tour video posted in partnership with Stoeger that shows the amount of work that goes into the Tikka and Sako rifles (showng 85's and T3x rifles being built). If I had to pick a single rifle for the rest of my days, Sako 85 would be right up there.

Wow that was super quick and super slick with the 2 shot sight in then followed up by a 3/4 inch 3 shot group. I have always wanted a Tikka which is a sister company but these Sako are sweet too. I like the feature set on this rifle even though I am not sure if I would use the QD sling mount holes 🕳 which detracts from the looks. I am a fan of a thumb hole stock like I have in my CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader.

I have the 300 win mag with the hunter strata Camo butt stock, and the precision forearm with matching Camo . being hybrid adjusting the length of pull, plus can adjust the trigger forward/rear just shy of 1/2 inch makes a real custom fit thus makes a real charm to shoot for short or extra large stature shooters. If the rifle stock does not fit the shooter well, you probably won't shoot as well. having over 300 rifles in the walk in vault ready to hunt, I will say this sako rifle is my favorite. their was some issues from some, but none in this rifle. 1/2 inch groups @ 100 yd with handhloads, right out the gate. 4-16x50 Zeiss glass and night force, ultra light rings directly mounted to the pic rail milled into the action makes for solid scope mounting for the 300 win mag thumper. sako muzzle break and the extra weight of the precision forearm weight tames the 300 mag to a pussy cat.

Looks like a sweet bingbang. Just wanted to tell ya I finally started using your paper plate target trick. Didn't even have to go get my own supply, I take the "Clean" ones out of the burn pile. Why, we have to buy heavy duty members mark "Coronet style" paper plates, give it to a kid with a sandwich and some chips on it and then just toss it" I know, sanitary. I make it more so buy putting some lead topping on it. Seriously, you can't tell they've been used. Trace a penny on the back , maybe 5. Spend my money on something else. I feel so much better doing this then having the dog lick em clean and then putting them back in the bag. Real plates, got no problem with that but paper, ehhh that don't seem right.

Love a S20. Only downside is reloading the magazines takes a moment. Cartridges have to be slipped in from the front, where the shoulder of the cartridge already there is in the way. Other than that, a great rifle. I have one in .308 Winchester that has the most consistent trigger pull of any rifle I have tested. Using a Wheeler digital trigger gauge, each pull varies only a fraction of an ounce. From the factory it was a 2 pound 5 ounce trigger. Very soft recoil pad. Removed a couple of spacers to get exactly 13.5" length of pull. Very accurate. Using Federal 165 gr Swift Scirocco II ammunition on no wind days sub one inch groups at 200 yards off the bench.

that rifle has the sako aluminum bedding nice nice rifle, I use to shoot a 7mm Rem. mag in Rem. 700 BDL it shot really well, I liked smaller grain bullets as did the rifle, 139 grain was my favorite and rifles, group were averaged dependable a 3/4 probably would not win any shooting match but one shot kills on deer coyotes and elk, If I remember right when 7mm's were first built they used 139 grains to prove them out, so might work out for you. being a European rifle they probably got rifling for heavier bullets. knowing twist will help you on grain weight.

I am glad you did this video. Anyone else experience what I have in my rifle? Please read on. I bought the same rifle. I had another Sako in 243 varmint. It was a tack driver. This 7mm mag I have I think is going back to get a different barrel. It shoots okay but it could be better. Right where the fluting starts it feels like when they were fluting it indented the barrel. I can feel it on a patch. I will never get over the thought of missing a big buck or elk if it has that imperfection in the barrel. I figure if I am paying 1700 bucks for a rifle it better have a good barrel. I scoped mine with a Burris 5x25 Signature. I like it.
