I'm so used to Miko being large and in charge and one of the most recognized vtubers that it's weird to see that clip of her old stream talking about nobody really knowing her or not being very many people's first choice to meet and all that. "I was weak minded back then". Man, to me, people who do an unconventional job as a way to pay their bills are already big-balls people in my book, let alone becoming an online entertainer. Also her own project has failed already at that point, transferred to hololive, then still struggled to get enough traction. True weak minded people wouldn't even dare to start that job, let alone continue for more than a year of getting nowhere. Miko has never been a weak minded person, but I'm glad that she shared her true feelings back then, and seeing her fans cheered her up. I only discovered her this year, but I think it's safe to say that we're all glad that Miko didn't quit.

But when I see channels that have been active since 2018, and still are as enthusiastic and energetic as ever yet they seem to be getting very little views and subscribers, I can't help but feel bad and sub to them and mingle around their streams. What's cool is that many of them respond to my comments on their streams because they get so few views to begin with. Even just a simple hello, they'll reply kindly. You know, her story is so heavy compared to indie Vtubers. She was shouldering an entire solo idol Vtuber project. It's not too far-fetched that she may have thought of herself as a "failed Kizuna Ai" clone at one point. Feeling like she let down not only herself but countless people working on the project... can you imagine that ? And those first few months in Hololive as an outsider... like "even over here, I dont belong" atmosphere.. My heart, it hurts
@AirahsELL4 жыл бұрын
Sora was the same way. She was a blatant clone of Ai before Cover Corp pivoted into the current Hololive projects.
@rianan66204 жыл бұрын
@@AirahsELL well, tokino sora actually different than kizuna ai setting. she is indeed is made for idol project. different is she is put another element of the old vtuber format, which is her sense of gaming. she played a lot of horror game together with A-chan back when A-chan was just black and white doodle and Ankimo. Because of that she is famous. then she does what miko do by doing the real talk streaming, then famous word "tomarun jyane zo" born. If we talk about OG vtuber line, tokino sora does belong in that. some OG vtuber made like impersonation video about other vtuber and they impersonating that sora 's famous line (watch kaguya luna vid). i just know about miko past after watching this vid, then i realized NONE of OG vtuber ever mentioned her. idk much detail about miko old project, but if she "supposed" to be kizuna ai rival, then yes, that project is failed. Good things is, we bless with this miko who never give up and always doing her best. god bless miko
@st.lucient47554 жыл бұрын
@@rianan6620 Yes, I was more about pointing out the failure of the original Sakura Miko project rather than that she was in fact, a Kizuna Ai rival or wanna-be. You don't know the burden of feeling like you let down an entire department of staff. It's different from "I tried my best but it didn't work out. Oh well." No, imagine feeling like you wasted the hard work of 40 or 50 other people in the project and getting nowhere near the amount of success everyone was hoping for. That was the burden she had on her shoulder as the face(voice) and persona of Sakura Miko project. Thinking "I wasn't entertaining enough for the viewers and they all left." with so much expectation put on her by lots of people. That is painful. And it's amazing that Miko got through that. It's sweet of Cover not to cancel her project altogether and gave her the boost she needed to go back into the scene. It is the one thing I applaud Cover for to this day.

From the suisei story vid, I found out she only had 150 viewers for like 5 months and 3500 subs and wasn't growing and she was on the verge of quitting. It makes me happy to see that she never gave up and is now on the verge of 700k subs and routinely gets around 20k viewers. It was rough, she didn't have much of energy or excitement due to the lack of people watching her, but instead of giving up, she kept going. tried figuring out what she wanted to do (with support of her fans), and today she looks back and realizes that it was a good improvement overall. That things happening the way they did made her better in the end, and I like that about her. I only watch videos with her on occasion, but I couldn't be happier that she ended up going from what she used to be to what she is now. She truly is Elite now. Good job, Sakura Miko!.

Miko will always have a special place in my heart. She was the first vtuber to lead me down the rabbit hole of hololive. I didn't even know what vtubers were, as I had seen KizunaAI in my recommended but I always thought the idea was weird and not my cup of tea. I think it was on Instagram that I saw her infamous GTA stream and from there I binge-watched all her archived streams, but at the time I wasn't aware of the existence of hololive. I'm glad that she got to where she is now, as she's worked hard and at points became unmotivated, but in the end she's still our Elite Miko.

It's...tough to admit that, despite working really hard, you still failed. It's even tougher to continue to put in effort knowing that you've already failed at it. I'm really glad for Miko. She failed, and yet still pushed on. She got really sick and yet still had the drive to continue when most would have moved on. You don't see many people this strong anymore.

It’s called persistence and determination. Failure is a part of life. It’s just the process of learning, which then leads to success.

Lol, I used to watch Kizuna AI videos back in the day. Not subscribed to her channel, but watched some of the clips that were put together of her antics back then. Stopped following her for a while, and I became completely ignorant of the vtuber world eventually. However, maybe based on the fact I used to watch Kizuna AI, I was recommend the N-word video with Sakura Miko. That brought me back into the vtuber scene and made me realize just how much it had developed and that there are even Indonesian Vtubers (my country). Now I'm all in, and all these Vtubers and the whole vtuber community never fail to bring joy to me. So it's really cool to see Miko reflect on her past like this. Really cool to see how she's developed over the years. All started with the silly N-word video, Lol. But now I get to understand her more. Nowadays, I try to subscribe to some of the lesser known channels. I try to engage as much as I can. A lot of other independent and smaller channels still have top quality content, even though they have very small audiences. Would love to see them grow too...

I tend to not feel anything towards my own real life sister. But if I were to have these precious treasures like Miko, Okayu, Marine, Aqua, etc. as sisters? I will really, really die as a happy albeit lonely, introverted guy. Now I know how it feels when others say existences like them keep them going through life when they are feeling down. I am not ashamed to say that they are indeed my light in the darkness that have shrouded me for ages. Knowing their pasts makes me love them even more. Wishing nothing but success and happiness for them for years to come before their eventual graduation one day. And when that time comes, my world will be shrouded in darkness once again. My only beacon of hope by then to keep me going are my memories of these wonderful girls, Anime, Manga and video games. Almost kind of like Watson Amelia in that regard. When she found her place in Hololive, I genuinely feel glad. It pains to lose sight of one's purpose in life. Until that day comes, I will treasure all of these precious Hololive members and will continue treasuring them. Nothing is more powerful than love indeed. Anyway, thank you for the translation. I needed some inner voices to hear to keep going in life. And these Hololive girls did the trick so I seriously thank you and other translators for that. Taking time to translate their contents, you guys are just as awesome. Edit: Miko may not be my favorite (since Senchou Marine is) but she is undeniably my precious treasure just as much. At least she got fans of her own who care about her ever since and that makes me happy. I cannot bear to see Miko not being given love. That’s too much for my heart to handle.

I hope there would be an anime that focuses on the virtual youtuber industry. Theres a lot of Idol anime already so this one should be possible hopefully especially if it would follow stories like Sakura Miko and Hoshimachi Suisei. Wanting to be an idol but has some social anxiety condition. Then, thinking that someone who has problem interacting personally with people will ever be an idol, someone who brings happiness to their fans, when “Kizuna Ai” has been unleashed to the world, the concept of a “Virtual Idol”. “Maybe, someone like me, will be able to be like that too”.

I think this is what seperates the traditional Idol from Virtual Idol or the Idols from Hololive rather. They are far more approachable and relaxed which is more enjoyable imo. These girls are really a blessing, they all work so hard it makes me happy to see them succeed
