Exactly. The pieces of a story that were taken out or changed didn’t do her character justice and it seems like the studio was just setting her up for the masses to dislike her. The scene of her reflecting on her actions towards Naruto and jumping to save him from being decapitated would have Been great in the anime (as well as removing all of the added ‘bitchiness’)

This is a fantastic video! Thank you for giving a detailed breakdown. I knew Studio Pierrot did Sakura dirty but this was way worse than I thought. Honestly, if there were any justice in the anime world, Kishimoto would be able to sue Studio Pierrot for taking far too many liberties on his work and demonstrably altering the perception of it. I wasn’t trusting the studio before this video but I’ll be even less so now. Sakura deserved so much more and the studio did all of this because they were Hinata biased.

Not to mention how the fanbase harrased a real person that are doing their job Sakura related and the novel. It's insane how hardcore hatred towards Sakura are because of these changes in the show including discussion from social media how they pointed out that doesn't know what filler means which increases hatred to toxic through the fanbase with false info with making up stories which isn't true. In conclusion the SP animators are the cause of toxic fanbase towards Sakura in the first place by changing her character in the show, because of what the fanbase complaining about Sakura are fillers. I've also heard Kishimoto was planning to give Sakura an arc, but it has been denied by SP. I could tell Kishimoto tries his best for Sakura's character to be liked through the manga with her important role of the storyline, but SP changed the story through the show with her important things she did even if it's little that impact the story but it's still part of her important role. Then Kishimoto gave up on her because of the hate it has been received, but that doesn't mean entirely given up on her because she's part of the female heroine. Not to mention Kishimoto is fond of SasuSaku, where he cried by making a goodbye panel between Sakura and Sasuke since genin and he has same expression where Sakura cried by sympathizing his feeling through his creation during that moment. But of course SP has to ruin every important moment Sakura has with other characters such as Naruto and Sasuke, especially her development and changes she has since genin. They have to make her a brat, obsessed, rude, clueless which she didn't develop or changed at all in the show and still the same since ninja academy and remove or changes her character. There's a lot to say on what's going on through every possibilities about Sakura, Kishimoto, SP animators, social media discussion, and everything place back together to sorts things out, and sometimes some certain fans would make their own stories that isn't true such as "Kishimoto doesn't want Sakura to be heroine and replace her with Hinata as heroine because of all hate she been received since Hinata plays as an important role" as an example, not trying to hate Hinata or anything, it's something Naruto fans would normally says especially "Kishimoto almost has a verge of divorce when his wife upsets that SakuNaru didn't happened" etc etc.

There are so many changes to the point that it's not the same character that was in the manga from appearance to dialogue & even behavior. and the fillers where they steamed rolled this character.Alot of people don't even know what fillers are .Studio Pierrot's agenda was to make Hinata the main heroine, which they were successful in doing by the end of the series "Byakugan Princess" get that out of here, Hianta wasn't bullied in childhood But they added that backstory Sakura was bullied to the point she had bruises but they removed that They also changed Sasuke making him cold & emo especially in part 1 bruh they took his expressions away. changed all his scenes with Sakura. And did that with other characters as well

The studio really did her dirty. If you notice by adding in all of the times, she hits Naruto in the anime, it makes her look much worse as opposed to much fewer times in the manga. I think it was even pointed out that in the fight against Sasori, she was actually more independent in the manga versus the anime The completely ignored her novel, remove her or changed Aspects of in other novels which ended up, diminishing her prowess and kept her in the damsel.

I’ll be honest, Sakura is a character I’ve grown to like more in the manga. I do enjoy her in the anime as well, it’s just frustrating that the studio company does whatever they can to try and ruin her character in every way they can.

I think you should also address the bias towards Hinata. A lot of Naruto fandoms including Studio Pierrot have a thing for her and bash Sakura over their fondness towards Hinata. Studio Pierrot sexualizes Hinata multiple times especially one time in the filler arc where Hinata dances around on the lake naked despite that she was 12 years old at the time, keeps re-writing the past, adding bullshit that never existed in the first place like retconning established storylines and characters' development for Hinata and NaruHina sake, and give her some more eye-candy appearances to make other female characters like Ino and Sakura look bad in comparison. I don't hate Hinata, it's just the favoritism around her is getting ridiculous.

Yeah, she was hated, but that's not an excuse to nerf her further than what was done in the manga. And so what if sakura was the editor's idea and kishimoto admitted he couldn't write female characters? Those aren't excuses either. Kishimoto could have taken the time to learn how to write female characters (instead of doing stuff like thinking that making her prettier would make her appeal to more female readers). If the anime studio was willing to make filler episodes to give some side characters more screentime and appearances and change sarada's genin outfit from what was in the boruto manga to the one kishimoto designed for her, the anime could have helped improve sakura's character and popularity instead of nerfing her even further. Kishimoto and studio pierrot both betrayed sakura but studio pierrot failed sakura more than kishimoto because as bad as his attempts were, kishimoto did try to make sakura likeable to readers. [But strangley, sakura didn't become likeable until boruto, which could be due to several favors outside of the franchise.]

Oh. And I want to add this here. Sakura wasn't hated as much in Japan as she was in the USA. Manga readers didn't hate Sakura like people who only watched the anime did. This tells you everything about how kishimoto and his manga team (I will include the editors here) saw and treated Sakura versus how the upper management and executives at studio pierrot saw and treated Sakura. Kishimoto sucked at writing female characters and didn't have anyone on his staff (I am guessing there were no women there) that could help him with that, but with all his failed and messed-up attempts, at least I believe him when he said he tried to make sakura mkre likeable because she was based on his wife (and narusakusasu love triangle was based on a love triangle between his wife, him, and his brother at that time). The manbabies at studio pierrot didnt even try to make sakura look good and likeable - just kept demonizing her even further - and they have a long history of doing that tonother fenale characters like her in other series they have animated. [Apparently, even the lower-level employees at studio pierrot were shocked at the swift change in the naruto ending and were taken aback and mad that naruhina happened and not narusaku. The editors have suggested a lot of changes to kishimoto but they would have never asked kishimoto to change the main endgame couples if it wasn't for the man-babies at studio pierrot forcing him to do so. The change being abrupt and last minute is even more obvious if you look at boruto's and sarada's designs, especially boruto's. Himawari feels like a naruhina kid; boruto doesn't. I get that it was probably easier to modify sarada's design to turn from a sasukarin kid to a sasusaku kid than to turn boruto from a narusaku kid to a naruhina kid. But they didn't even try with boruto's design. You have to squint your eyes to kind of see hinata's face and eye shapes in him and his favorite color being pink is literally a tribute to Sakura.]

Actually I've heard that kishimoto actually wrote her in a way so she would be really relatable and loved by the girls but since he doesn't know how to write women well he was surprised to how much hate she got in og Naruto so in Shippuden when he had a character arc just for her producers advised him to not go with it since she already got enough hate and move along with the story. Since I only watch the anime I really didn’t know about these changes. Still I want it on record as someone who was repeatedly bullied and hit for laughs, I intensely hated those scenes of Sakura hitting Naruto for no reason. There are numerous other scenes that depict Sakura in a bad light. The hospital scene where Tsunade just returned to Konoha and heals Sasuke. Sakura immediately throws herself on Sasuke without giving Naruto any thanks whatsoever. Or the times when Naruto saves Sakura and Sakura thanks Sasuke for the save. Not a good look! While Hinata is a much better girl, I believe she should not have married Naruto either. There was no chemistry between them. Yes Hinata admires Naruto for his quality and worth, but that’s it.

She is also isn't flat like they showed in the anime Sakura doesn't say who will she save first Sasuke or naruto,that's filler When she lied to naruto about loving him, in the manga it's clear that she was gonna k*// herself during that arc that's why she lied in the first place Dragged stabbing Obitos eye part for 10 minutes while it was just 2 panels in manga Also when Sakura punched Kaguya, she broke one of her horns and damaged her eye removed Hinatas Back story about being bullied is filler , Hinatas fight against is also filler pain one shotted Hinata in ch 463, The staff at studio Pierrot were just simps for Hinata that's why they ruined Sakura's character to make Hinata the main heroine of the franchise

I'm sorry of I'm wrong But i read the manga All of it And i haven't seen the first few things u said Sasuke asking naruto about Sakura and winking, i checked again to make sure, i even went to the japanese colored version, nothing... I couldn't find this at all.. Also about ch144 He did get jealous Bc he wanted to b stronger Not bc he wanted to save sakura This scene is in the anime as is, it wasn't altered from Sasuke's pov But yes, u are right They DID change alot of Sakura's stuff She isn't that flat, And yes, naruto wasn't upset leaving them in the hospital alone Alot of what u wrote is correct But the ones i mentioned are what i checked and never found Don't get me wrong I'm not here to fight I like sakura, i don't love her so much but i like her.. and if these were all correct I wouldn't dare misinform others. ^^

I agree that Studio Pierrot did Sakura dirty. I mean me being a Nami fan can totally understand that. Toei does the same thing with Nami in the anime. These studios has something against the main female of these shows for some reason. 😂 They're always horribly adapted. 😞 That being said. Ngl Sakura isn't really a good character to begin with. Yes, Studio Pierrot did ruin Sakura a lot but she wasn't really that good of a character to begin with. Kishimoto just sucked at writing female characters. Even he himself admitted that. I remember he once said that he's not a fan of Sakura and thst she was never supposed to be important to the story. I also clearly remember him putting Sakura on the same category as characters like Kiba.

actually even though he can't really write women well she doesn't dislike Sakura at all, even better he created her so she could be relatable and lovable for girls but got alot of hate for her character in og naruto since he can not write them well, still her character design and looks was one of his favorites and he thought she came out prettier than he ever expected and she made sakura based of his wife so his wife really loves her, in Shippuden he decided to give her arc of her own to develop her character but unfortunately producers advised him not to since she already got hate in og naruto and it would be "pointless" and still would get hated on, I think it really could have made people love her so quite sad they didn't go along with it

Kishimoto is the one who did her dirty, IMHO. The post Kage Summit arc was absolutely heinous for Sakura's character. Though really, every arc post-Sasori was downhill for her.

Sakura fan logic: Complain about how the Creator written her in manga then complain about how she was anime. Just maybe her character isn't good y'all reaching. Her only character development was literally finally train something everyone does in series. Don't get wrong thumbs up for healing and sneak attack on kaguya but breaking her horn isnt flex when Sasuke broke a horn with regular sword.

@@lamar9616 I was ranking her writing as S, and the both of them needed the other just as much (ignoring the fact she adapted to fighting Sasori herself doing the fight), her not serving much of a role was the problem of the authors writing. All of which is a good enough reason to complain about the bad writing that came after this arc. You dont even to be a fan of Sakura to see the problematic writing choices that followed the rest of the series.

Take away Sakura Naruto will still be alive because you know the plot and main character

Im a massive Sakura hater and being branded as one is a badge of honor i will proudly wear on my chest till my dying day. With that being said, this is my second time ive watched people expose Sakura's standing as a heroine and the studio's meddling. Its really unfir and if they didnt do what theyve done to sakura's character, she be having half the amount of haters she has today. P.S dont mistranslate my hatred towards Sakura as me being a hinata fan. I hate them both equall!
