One thing I'm starting to realize is all these guys who snitched have an overwhelming urge to somehow be back in their old life to be back in the spotlight so to speak in this KZbin thing gives them just what they crave and I think it takes away all the negative feelings they feel about themselves for snitching

Although Paul disliked Roy, it has been well speculated that Roys murder paved the way for Gotti to kill Paul. Its been stated that although Gotti wasnt afraid of Demeo accepting a murder contract on him was more trouble than it was worth due to the fact that Roy was dangerous and had other killers around him. Further, that it was only after Roy was disposed of that Gotti and his crew made their move on Castellano. True? Idk could be something to it. It makes sense.
@alandemaio3043 Жыл бұрын
By 1986 Roy deMeo would get arrested anyway, Gaggi would have to induct some of the guys in the crew in order to “save” Castellano.

No way Roy makes to 86....I'm just saying these are the things people from that world were saying
@dunstonmunson8314 Жыл бұрын
Well, no I don't think Roy being alive or dead influenced Gotti in the killing of Paul. I think Paul was killed entirely because of the tapes made from the bug on Angelo Ruggieros daughters phone and the drug business. Paul knew that Gotti and Angelo Ruggiero were selling drugs and so it was only a matter of time before Gotti and his crew got whacked. So for Gotti I think it was kill or be killed. So I don't think Roy being alive or dead really influenced it.
@johnmccarthy2319 Жыл бұрын
Gotti sure as hell was afraid of DeMeo. Just like every other mafiosi in New York. His crew was the most ruthless and dangerous by far. No other crew even came close to the amount of bodies they had.
@thedarknessunderneathpodca6366 Жыл бұрын
Roy was fucked. He wouldn't have been free for much longer even if Paul hadn't done anything. Vito was mass snitching and between Mccabe's surveillance and Murphy connecting the auto thefts to homicides, Roy was pretty much over.

The DeMeo Crew consisted of 10 core and 25 total members and was the most terrifying crew in the history of the mafia. I have studied this and this crew was insane. The crew was responsible for 250-1000 murders. Retired detectives have stated that there were hundreds of missing people in Brooklyn during their time in addition to the 250 murders which they were convicted. Then there were an unknown number of unfortunate men who went to the Gemini Lounge and got too drunk and were alone late into the night and were snatched up by the crew and never seen again. DeMeo told Gravano that he used these people to keep his crew of killers sharp.

What astonished me is that Roy knew his own guys were going to whack him, and even told his son Albert that day or the night before...They said he was extremely nervous & jumpy. You'd think he would've went to that fateful meeting loaded up..Uzi under his jacket, several revolvers, take them all out....Did he feel he deserved it? Had it coming? Some say he didn't want his fambky hurt...perhaps, but all he had to do is kill Testa & Santee and any bystanders and then picked up his fambly and moved to East Bumfuck Idaho.. .he DID have $$$ squirreled away. He might be alive today if he did that Matt NYC
@edwardcapobianco2975 Жыл бұрын
It doesn't work that way,especially in the old days even in the 80s. They would have found him and you don't just sell your house ,liquidate your assets, and load up with enough cash to live for 40 years on it. Demeo wasn't about to get a job at Dairy Queen in Idaho. I lived in Seaford Long Island the town next to Massapequa where Demeo family lived. I met his son a few times. My old man lived in Brooklyn, gangsters all over the neighborhood. They knew everything and only way you're making a move to jump ship is with the FBI doing it for you. You would never get away with shit going behind the Mobs back. They're always suspicious and always checking people out,especially associates.

For the people saying they don't believe this is true, you would need to have some sort of evidence to the contrary to get me to believe its not true. And that's the way it should always be, people should always have evidence before they make conclusions. Here Sal says he sold Roy car parts for a while. They were both in the mob, both operated in new york city, they were both in the car business, they both operated during the same years. So until you have evidence that he didn't sell Roy car parts, then you cannot know that it's not true.
