To be honest all of it. I think Sal is a class act and I’m a huge fan. I think what you guys are doing is great. I grew up in a huge Italian family and so much of what you guys talk about is what I’ve experienced. It just makes me feel so proud to be Italian. I get such a kick out of some of your guests. It brings so much to the table for me.

My favorite part is at 1:03:02, when Sal says Madonna "calls herself Madonna." Sal, that's her real name! Her parents named her Madonna when she was born. What else should she call herself?

There are more Italians in South America like Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina than in the US & Canada.

True but they are mostly northern Italian decendants there. The US, Canada, Austrailia and even the UK are the southern Italian diaspora.
@bio45462 ай бұрын
@@jhlfsc so? That's not the point of the question. You either are Italian or you aren't, it's that simple, and I named the first three countries other than US and Australia where there are even more Italians, both in numbers and in percentage of the whole population, to prove the point wrong. Btw I'm not disrespecting Sal or anyone else here, I like them and the Channel so much that I usually listen to their podcasts to improve my english!
@jhlfsc2 ай бұрын
@@bio4546 That absolutely is the point of the question. Sal's family (like over 90% of Italian American, Canadian and Austrailians) are from Southern Italy. The majority of Italians in the countries you named are from Nothern Italy. There obviously is a huge difference especially when it comes to experiencing your own regional food, feasts, traditions and language so of course he would only mention the countries with high diaspora populations from the south rather than the north.

You are among the most Italian people I have ever seen. Like all Italian regions you have your own recipes and your own dialect which is different from other regions. You love food like crazy. Try to maintain traditions. Family at number 1. One thing you have probably lost over the generations is a bit of "hatred" for Italy. As a famous Italian song says: I don't feel Italian, but fortunately or unfortunately I am.

Don’t take peoples last names and assume if they are or are not Italian because number one so many people change their names or get married doesn’t mean they weren’t raised Italian like Nicolas Cage just wanted to make it as an actor and he knew Nicolas Coppola people would just say oh that’s why he made it but his father was August Coppola and his mother was not Italian but so what Francis Ford Coppola was his uncle.

I'm sorry but what the hell is Salvatore talking about? Pizza a portafoglio has always existed in Naples, they have not copied it from americans. It's just the street food version of pizza. And while it's true that in Italy when we go to the restaurant we cut pizza with fork and knife we also eat it with our hands and nobody in Italy would ever judge someone for eating pizza with their hands....
