Bolt rounds have been retconned to have shells, it contains a small charge that starts the round out of the bolter before the primary charge ignites. therefore bolters can jam.

It seems to be a rule of W40k videos that Space Marines just slaughter their enemies with impunity. It's boring. If you watch good animations of battle, losses happen on ALL sides-just like in real war.
