Hey, how about the working hours in qualcomm and intel
@Singh-Rajveer
@Singh-Rajveer Жыл бұрын
VLSI Jobs usually don't have concept of working hours. Get your job done and enjoy. So, If you team have lot of projects and resources are less. Automatically there would be pressure on you to increase hours. Hence all depends on team. Usually intel have good work-life balance means mostly employee would not have to stretch working hours. Qualcomm is very aggressive in salary and projects so you will be paid more and mostly you would have to work extra.

Prepare as per roadmap shared and apply for intern position in all vlsi companies. Getting entry is most difficult task so don't bound yourself only for these companies. Try everywhere. And for that: You need to find out available intern roles and ask for referral from someone working in same company. LinkedIn would be a place do all such things because most of the corporate employees are active there

Hi Pradyumna, WD have good work life balance. Usually VLSI MNCs have good work life balance however throughout the year it is not same. Sometimes you may get extra work and sometimes it will be completed easily. Since it is technical work so also depends on individual's problem solving / debugging skills. In terms of CTC , WD mostly offers 13-16 LPA to freshers

Can u please tell...how much will be the avg annual increments in these companies and suppose, if my base package is 12Lpa then approximately how much will that be after 5 yrs? Thanks in advance 😊
@Singh-Rajveer
@Singh-Rajveer 2 жыл бұрын
As per my knowledge, Growth entirely depends on individual. What kind of projects he is working. Is he worked really hard. The skills he is acquiring are tough one and all those factors. But suppose you are just doing as minimal as possible. Only the works assigned to you , no extra work on urself. In that case also you can expect 8% per annum increase so in 5 years you will land to 12* (1.08)^5 = 18 lpa something. Other case is your team is good, projects you are working have high values in market. You also worked hard. Skills you acquired are scarce in the market then you can assume 20 to 40% growth. Also you changed job at proper times if your company not giving good increase. So in that case package after 5 years can range from 28 to 62 LPA(assumed started from base 12) And ctc can go from 50 to 75 Lakhs. One more thing, Taking high base salary is dis-advantageous , keeping income tax rate plus surcharge above 50L in india. So Companies usually provide luxury lifestyle and decent amount of increase in salary rather than increasing base only.

I think IoT market is evolving. As much we are progressing, our daily life is going to be filled with Electronics equipment. If ctc is from 13 to 15L then how much is the in-hand salary every month?
@Singh-Rajveer
@Singh-Rajveer 2 жыл бұрын
Actually it varies company to company. But basically CTC consist of CTC = Base pay + Joining bonus + Variable ( depends on performance) So inhand salary is like (Base pay/12) - taxes - provident fund So in most cases this much you will get in account. In simple words for getting 1L per month base pay should be 14-15. Indian income tax structure is very complex so eventually your per month salary will depend on like how much deductions you are able to claim. Variable pay is like , you get some portion of this at the end of year Joining bonus you will get mostly after probation period And these rules may varry company to company but thump rule is your per month salary depends on base and how much deductions you can claim while filing ITR
@Singh-Rajveer
@Singh-Rajveer 2 жыл бұрын
So if his base is 10 then his net income = 10/12 which comes 83k per month and acter tax and deductions, pf it would be something in range 70-75k

Yeah many students are placed from VIT. For colleges like NIT Patna ,it varies year by year. Suppose the year you are doing M.tech, One or two good MNCs comes and hires then it is good. And if they does n't come then same student will say that bad. However using ur skills you can try off campus but off campus is always tougher than On Campus. Tough not in terms of interview, tough in terms of getting a opportunity. So for top IITs / NITs it is sure that most of VLSI students will get placement but for others it is luck based. Then it is very tough to directly enter VLSI field as gap matters a lot. Only way i can think of is to give gate and Take M.Tech VLSI from some good IIT/NIT if you go for training institutes like VLSI for all/ Maven Sillicon etc then it would be tough. However skills also matter but risk is there

I m here to ask you that i am an MTech graduate from IIT Gandhinagar but not in VLSI in image processing and worked 2 years in edtech industry testbook. I want to switch to vlsi. If I can get internship for the same to begin with?? Will be preparing all the basics required

Hi, You can search on LinkedIn and apply for internship in companies such as synopsys, nxp, mediatek etc. If you are done with basics then try for fresher level job. Mostly internship is offered to students who are in final year of graduation so may be you won't be eligible. You can make connections with HR or someone in company on LinkedIn and try to get a Referral from them.

Hello Sir, Your case is very unique. Like i won't say to not to go for VLSI but yeah gap matters a lot. If you get Top 6 old iit vlsi/ iisc vlsi and you can justify your gap and also your interest in vlsi then you can get good vlsi companies But from some normal college & even with NITs/New IITs ,it is very tough. That's what i can say based on my experience here. I may be wrong ,it is my perspective only

Skills + Gap ( which you can justify or somehow make interviewer beleive that you will be good candidate for respective job) No exact limit is there. But usually 1-2 years do not create that much problem but gap of 5-6 years needs to be justified properly.

@@hannu123 yeah so only 1 year gap won't matter that much and one year IT experience will justify that you have linux terminal knowledge and can learn tools easily. And yes VIT is at par with mid NITs.

Hi, I am a 3rd year student. Currently I am doing embedded firmware stuff . One of my senior got 15LPA in NXP for firmware development during covid. I also have those skills but not much internship experience because of college. I also don't know if I will get opportunity like my senior did, it's all luck. Their is one internship in ASIC design and my college recently gave a one month Verilog course which I did and learned modelsim tools. But it is a small company and stipend is just 2K for 6months and then 3LPA job after if I get selected. I am really confused, should I stick to Embedded firmware, apply for Asic design internship or prepare DSA for IT companies because of low chance in getting job at NXP,stm, Ti for firmware profile.

@Singh-Rajveer 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Lakshay, Since you are in third year so you should go for internship and learn as much as possible because may be in final year some good companies for VLSI profile or embedded profile comes in your college. In that case your resume would have this internship experience. To do that 3 LPA job after btech is your choice. If you get some other good opportunity then you do that. So if you are having only this offer at this time then go for it as it will give you some exposure to industry. And keep preparing so that you can target high CTC jobs too.

And You will be doing internship in ASIC Design so why to shift IT. See, you have done your B.Tech in ece so if you can get a job in Core Electronics then it will be good. And Learn both embedded, Vlsi side and apply whatever opportunity you get.

Hello Sai, Since you are having one year experience in TCS so that may add some value. But to get VLSI job, it would depend on ur skills in training institute. Because of ur tcl job u have a added advantage of Terminal and C language knowledge. So before going for training institute clear/ revise ur basics of digital, analog and edc. And also do some research on training institutes and their placement. Then after training, if you do well in interview u can get a VLSI job. And that all depends on ur hard work and skills actually
