I don’t have kids yet but having the responsibility of caring for my new rescued dog after getting laid off from my dream job in 2015 early in my career… is what kept me pushing through depression. My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I rescued her as a puppy in May 2015 and I got laid off October 2015. Basically I felt so lost because that job was my world and my dream, and I feel she was meant to be with me to help me get through that part of my life. Today she is 6 years old and seeing her age, having her as our best friend, our adventure buddy, and annoying her with too many cuddles has been a blessing and gave me purpose when I needed a reason to keep going. I can’t thank her enough and she doesn’t even realize what she has meant to me.
