I grew up near Klineline. Fished it constantly from late 60's through the 90's. First salmon, first and largest steelhead 23lbs, biggest searun 25 inches and many limits of trout and steelhead. I do miss fishing it but am now on the North Ilympic Peninsula. I just read they have extended steelhead into May. March used to be an excellent month.

By the way, love the spot were you were fishng. Glad it still fishes well. Secret is safe with me. I loved the upper creek because nobody fished it. I knew that creek intimately from 72nd ave to felida bridge. Oh the memories.

Ty for watching 😁 truth be told that's the only Steelhead I've ever caught at that spot, I've caught tons of Cutthroat there though. Ty again and have a wonderful day 😀

You can walk down to the creek next to any public road bridge using the public right away. Once at the shore up or down stream using navigable waters act right of way to the 100 year flood mark. You trespass only if you enter or leave thru private land
@cluelessfisherman4555 Жыл бұрын
That is true only on what the government deems navigable waters, Salmon Creek unfortunately isn't considered navigable

Ty for the comment 😁......in mid January if you move around a lot you can have 10-15 fish days but 95% of fish are sea-run cutthroat up to 18".....you can technically keep 2 a day but i recommend releasing them cause they have parasites most the time and it's better if they go make babies anyway......one last tip.....BAIT IS KEY!!!!

I went out yesterday for a couple hours and the water had maybe 6 inches of vis which is barely fishable and had 1 bite on eggs.....I'm sure since it was cold last night it's very fishable today......I'm sure there's some steelhead and cutthroat in right now but its still a smidge early for any major numbers, I usually do best mid January.

Did you walk there from klineline? How do I get to that spot?
@cluelessfisherman45552 жыл бұрын
This spot is on private property and the landowner will call the cops on trespassers.....I've caught fish all throughout the system and no one spot is better than another, the key for catching Steelhead on Salmon Creek is keep moving and throw the kitchen sink at them and always throw bait at them first i.e. spawn sacks, sand shrimp and cured prawns then go to beads, jigs and spinners....ty for watching and commenting 😀
