I'm glad Splatoon 3's releasing in September, b/c I've still got some Splatoon 2 animations to take care of, haha. Compared to my previous animation, this one was easier to make in some ways but harder in others. Character animation was easier as I didn't have to try to fit 2D characters into 3D chairs or anything like that ^^; On the other hand, I had to make the set from scratch & got more ambitious w/ the camera movements (1 of my goals this time around was to get better w/ Blender's camera).
I also learned how to make fire, oceans, & other assets through this! I hope it will make future animations a smoother process i.e. next time a scene needs fire or an ocean it'll take significantly less time since I already have these ones on hand (& can tweak them if needed).
That being said, I think my next vid may take a break from all this 2D/3D complexity. Pushing myself to understand how to achieve this look effectively is great, but I fear my brain will catch fire if I don't dial things back for a bit lol

Edit: I find the pic, they didn't have the bracket names as I thought or remembered, but they were Zuko, Bumi, Raava, and Roku. I do remember a Sozin as well but they had left early game sadly.

Hearing "Mr. Shut up" made me laugh every time. I know it's been commented on a bunch, but that mix of 2D and 3D is really cool! The salmonid squabbling at the seagull and the shatter effect were charming little touches, too. Also liked the comedic timing of the punchline.. this is a good piece of work all around, really

Nice animation! I remember one time I was playing private battles, and someone called "Bombs Only" joined. I used only bombs during the whole match and got like 6 splats... and the other person didn't respect their own rule. I think I may have recorded that (in one moment I accidentally shot the floor, but that doesn't count xd)

I fucking love this video, the sound design is hilarious with the little gobbledygook from the Small Fry, Mr Grizz being banjo which I will 100% steal in the future, and your voice acting which sounds so broken after the Veemo. I recently just saw a few of your videos, and you do en excellent job! Everyone is commenting on how the animation and mix between 2D and 3D effects are great, which I 100% agree with, but there was something else you included that first stuck out to me that touched the old school game lover in me. I don’t know how many people would actually get one of these references right off the bat like I did, much less both, but they MADE the video in my opinion! I LOVE how you made the voice of Mr. Grizz as Banjo Kazooie from the original N64 game, and then added the Song of Healing from Majora’s Mask in at the end with the sad part. Despite being born after 2000, I have loved playing Nintendo games that range from the NES to the newest Switch releases. I am quite a Zelda fan, and while Majora’s Mask isn’t personally what I call the best of them, I certainly love the iconic features of the game. I much appreciated those touches! That was very creative of you!
