Excellent guide... A note on that Scythe, having 3 scaling stats on it means they all soft cap at 20. There's a Twohander version of it from the same mage, with the same Guillotine spell, that only scales off 2 stats, where your effective Arcana scaling is 25 (1=40, 2=25, 3=20 caps). You can get Strength to 25 and basically max it out, obviously with all your >25 Arcana being wasted but it's just a secondary weapon anyway. As a note, Guillotine is ridiculously stupid broken in some situations when you have the high ground and the only way up is a ladder.

So finally got the current patch on ps5 and boy did it improve a lot. One big thing they changed was allowing you to roll out of a block sooner. Now, I don’t know if this will let me deflect out of a block on faster attack chains, but I’ll try this out when I get home from work. Also, not only did they increase the amount of berries and irona, but I’m a complete idiot that didn’t realize you could, just like gunning in Monster Hunter, craft ammo in the field. For those that also missed this, just hold down the interaction button (⭕️ on PlayStation) and you’ll use any irona in your inventory (max of 30) to craft ammo while NOT at an obelisk. Hopefully others didn’t miss this like I did, but if so, you’re welcome. Now go kill bosses with pure range builds… if you have the silver to afford all that irona. (They should still make that stuff cheaper to buy, or just allow us to get our silver back with our salt…. Also wouldn’t mind a “return to last obelisk used” option to make leveling up feel less punishing early on)

I know you posted this awhile ago but incase anyone sees it later… there is a “bench warp.” Just quit to main menu and load back in. You save/keep everything and start in the camp. Only takes 7-8 seconds start to finish because of the fast load times. Only issue is you can only warp back to the fast travel obelisk. Still better than nothing though

Great guide thx. U are so soothing to listen to🥳💪. Im at the start of the game, killed the 4/5 mages quest completed and the spider boss queen in second area and is lvl 20 something. Any tips to where i get a better staff, rod and spells ? Or should i just enhance my starting equipment for dmg boost ? But i have a question

Great content. I've gone slightly different on my sage build, full heavy armour (yellow roll) and full focus/stamina with just the stave points in the arcana tree (I've not found any high scaling staves). I just found a legendary artifact with runal arts damage % on which is very nice.

How were you able to get Arcane so high? I'm at 41'ish and the only points I see left are really far away and I would have to put in strenght/dex/other weapons to get there. Honest question cause I am so lost on this skill tree XD

heavy armor tank+ heavy sword build and sage build is fun. go for these builds and the game is a ton of fun all other startimg classes are trash and game suks absolute @$$ if u r doing dex build since dex focus weapons(halfspear, rapier, katana) have trash moveset in terms of effectiveness

The moment you kill the final boss you're given a dialogue choice and propelled into NG+ so be careful, it's how I got screwed over.

how does spell scale with arcana ? like most staves have very low scaling but i think the runic art have a scaling on their own aside from the weapon, also do you really get that much more damage from spell having this high arcana cause soft cap seem to be 40 ( is it still for runic arts or just weapon ? )

I went with a strength build paladin. I haven’t really found a great weapon yet. I’ve played for 12 hours and I won’t play the game again - so no sage for me. :(

I went with the strength build (cleric) at first too. Then I rolled a sage to play with a friend, and that became my favorite because everything was so much easier. Highly recommend giving that a shot!

There's a couple like blade of order, bloodrazor, tombrender and force. Katanas aren't as good on magic though since few have magic abilities. Instead halfspear and rapier are more mage centric.
