skimmed through because I knew this trick, but just in case you didn't mention it the black smith's glove give strength so worth just wearing those until you have the endurance to wear more and fast roll.

That shortcut in front of the npc to talk to is pretty cute. I should have figured that about 90% of the strats used in this prob wqon't work today bc they don't sadly. I lightened my load completely and didn't come close to making the jump on that shortcut. Pft. Looks cool tho. I die, salt goes....well maybe to the same bird on the ledge I jumped from, not sure. Gonna guess rn it prob just spawns....wherever. Heh. Seems like an awesome guide tho and I'm using it asd much as I can but holy shit-ROUGH! The recovery time from the knights strikes have changed pretty heavily, too. I see our recovery seems to be almost a full second faster.

The only better way for melee early OP, is to farm 5k gold, use a ladder glitch, and jump to the secret dev shop that is near to the very 1st location, and buy a Jaws of death. A very cool damage, good attack speed, and moveset. I've done the NG with only this weapon. P.S. To farm 5 k gold, you can: 1 Go to Village of smiles sanctuary, 2 go left, 3 in the building go up, 4 and find the location, where 4 saltless dudes are. 5 Kill them, take gold, dropped items, use the calling horn. 6 Repeat.

You should try using the grenades u can pick up for the first boss u get 5 and they take the boss down to less than 1/4 hp and makes that fight much faster and easier.

Against the first boss.. fire damage. The burn effect will kill him before he even realizes..

They won't. They get replaced by the same vendor but different member to the creed you belong too.

Witch King press jump + roll at the same time without moving direction on left analog. then as soon as you get in mid air move your analog in the direction your jumping for maximum distance it takes a little practice.

Hey thanks man!! the jump trick is to while standing still press the roll button and jump button at the same time. Once you have done that it will lunge you into the air and then you press forward to get more distance.

Lamprey armor set is good, you have to back track after getting wall jump to get it. Its a higher class heavy armor set that is still light weight.

question to whomever sees this....if you offer idols to one creed, then down the line you take an oath of another for one reason or another, do you still have access to those idols? ie you offer Cleric, Blacksmith, Merch and Traveler to Stones but later in the game you take the oath of fire and sky, would I still have access to blacksmith and whatnot from the stones?

I don't know if you figured it out yet. But yes you can use them you just can add to the sanctuary or advance devotion. If you use tainted paper though they will attack you and you have to kill everyone.

This game is so confusing, and so impossible without guides. Most important treasures are hidden or only achievable by having special brands, making the whole experience tiresome and ridiculous. And if you do things in the wrong way in the beginning, forget about it. You need to restart again. Imagine having a mage character and not being able to cast a single spell because the stone mages required are in pretty hidden spots and beginners will never find em unless they keep playing for days and days and they have luck. And unique materials that only spawn once in the entire game neded to be used for transmutations... ridiculous. Hilarious.

Just a lil additional info to this DON'T GET THE WALL JUMP BRAND AS THE FIRST BRAND!!! You wont be able to get the Vertigo brand. It will glitch because the Vertigo brand is supposedly the first brand you should have gotten. But Fret not... not having the vertigo brand wont stop you from completing the game, but would fuck the loots you could have gotten using the vertigo brand. The more you know :)

8 yrs later. Heard there's been a massive change of a lot of things and I can absolutely see some immediately even though I have never played the game. Someone killed the initial boss-deep by staying as close as possible and rolling when it jumped then just slowly pecking down it's hp. Well you absolutely can't do that now! Touching it while it jumps is insta death. So i'm just gonna guess most of the stuff done here is WAY outdated but I'd still like to know a direction, what to, and not to, eat, early game, etc. "We're gonna do this without cheating" jumps across the screen in one leap. I mean hey it might not help but it's def not as legit as what basic gives ya. At least not for me.

Samson G yes it does. I just figured it out last night. Hit jump and roll at the same time but make sure your not holding your joystick in any direction. You must be standing still in order to long jump. Once you activate long jump you can move the joystick in whatever direction you want in the air. But touch the ground and let go of joystick to go back to neutral position for long jump again

The equip rate affects character's moving speed, under 25% of max load gives you max running speed. Long jumping requires you to stand still (not moving) and press roll and jump at the same time (or press roll a little bit earlier than pressing jump) and then press move forward. Two-handing a weapon increase the strength scale (if the weapon scales on strength).
